Roman is launching ahead of schedule and under budget, a testament to the extraordinary teams across NASA and industry who turned an ambitious vision into reality.
This mission will transform how we see the universe and help answer questions humanity has pursued for generations.
Looking forward to launch.
The next chapter of lunar exploration is taking shape.
Next week, we are announcing our first steps towards surface capabilities and mobility. Preparation for the first Moon Base is well underway.
So true.
AI commoditizes programming, not engineering. As code generation becomes trivial, the real leverage shifts to architecture, constraints, and system design. Thatโs where true engineers (not just programmers) differentiate, and why demand increases, not decreases
Unpopular opinion: AI will not reduce net employment, might actually increase it.
To wit: AI-enabled coding increases Boomโs demand for software engineers. Because AI enables everyone to code, we now need more people to ensure architecture foundation is solid.
Sky full of stars.
Following a successful lunar flyby, the Artemis II astronauts captured this breathtaking photo of our galaxy, the Milky Way, on April 7, 2026.
New record๐ฅ
The Artemis II astronauts are now farther from Earth than humans have ever been! At 1:57 p.m. EDT, they broke the record set by Apollo 13 in 1970.
Their journey around the far side of the Moon today will take them a maximum distance of 252,752 miles from Earth.
๐จ Artemis IIโs BIGGEST milestones are tomorrow. Hereโs when theyโll happen:
๐1:56 PM ET (1756 UTC) Crew surpasses the Apollo 13 distance record
๐2:45 PM ET (1845 UTC) Lunar observation period begins
๐6:47 PM ET (2247 UTC) Loss of signal expected as Orion heads behind the Moon (~40 min)
๐7:02 PM ET (2302 UTC) Closest approach to the Moon
๐7:05 PM ET (2305 UTC) Orion reaches its furthest point from Earth
Tomorrow is going to be HISTORIC!
