@d_feldman I'm convinced that most of these layoffs were decided by a spreadsheet with little to no oversight. So many highly valuable people got laid off, it felt random. Honestly, I think I prefer it that way; there's no shame in being let go.
I'm convinced that "blame" is entirely artificial. It's the excuse we make to justify a belief or action that goes counter to our identity, based on someone else's mistake. "I'm not someone who hurts people, but it's OK to hurt him because he ____." Is it though?
@onlymarinus@SwiftOnSecurity Its narrower and taller than a regular king bed, but look: or you put two of them side by side you actually get an A2-size bed.
@DrRevKimberlyV1@amitpadwal_@readDanwrite Technically nobody is fired just yet, they're giving 60 days notice, but you stop working immediately. And the goodbye email was sent to their personal address; they got locked out of their work accounts overnight.
@readDanwrite Nah, you knew when you woke up, because your phone had a cryptic error message saying there was a problem with your Google account, and your profile and data had all been deleted overnight. It's like an HR notification, but with the added bonus of wondering whether you broke it.
@andrewpprice We have them at work. They're not terrifically complicated; just some custom slightly-angled shelving packed tightly with plants still in their disposable square plastic pots. Water with pressurized water sprayer.
