@CjWilson850 I would encourage people to go take a look at Jerry’s stats. Randy’s 32yr old season was right about what Jerry was doing at 40 after tearing his acl at 36
@SandoNFL I view it as hyperbolic. But it’s not hyperbolic to say he’s the best QB in 30yrs to be available for a fixed cost, a contract and two picks without credible sexual assault allegations and teams tripped over themselves to say we’re not interested in a Tier 1 QB
@Friskylandshark@Tdub48864@ProFootballTalk I’m not making anything up. The Rams story is McVays weird angry press conference was to keep Matthew from being upset. What are you talking about? That’s their explanation.
@Friskylandshark@Tdub48864@ProFootballTalk Every single other player helps you this year and in the future. Simpson was the only one who doesn’t. If I’m Matthew I’m not happy with that. Maybe everyone’s fine with it and it’ll work out. But it’s seemed tense and I don’t think that was fake.
@Tdub48864@Friskylandshark@ProFootballTalk And Simpson doesn’t help win super bowls for Matthew. The cap is a credit card. You can absolutely not harm the current cap and secure a massive bag in response to a team having one foot in and one foot out w a massive asset that could’ve helped him.
@Friskylandshark@Tdub48864@ProFootballTalk Maybe, but Sean’s press conference did not suggest he was on board, and him being aware isn’t evidence he’s on board. Negotiations have been contentious multiple times during his tenure. Teams were reaching out just last year bc they didn’t think they were going well.
@Friskylandshark@Tdub48864@ProFootballTalk Team is choosing to allocate valuable resources to a future without him. It’s not asinine at all to see the team isn’t maximizing his current tenure and for him to ask for more money. They can put it on the cap credit card and push that money into Simpsons tenure.
@Tdub48864@ProFootballTalk He’s being paid 33% below the top of the QB market. If they’re not going to invest fully in the pursuit of a Super Bowl, I’d imagine Matthew would be much more interested in full actualizing his earning potential. That’s the issue.
@DianteLeeFB Also, if I’m Stafford, playing on a deal that’s 33% below his market value, I’m asking for it to be torn up and I was 3 yrs guaranteed at market value or I walk. They’re building for the future, so am I or I’ll head home filthy rich.
@geoffschwartz Maybe he also watched DeBoer not start him over Milroe, start him as a 22yr old and immediately decide he either needed to transfer or go pro. He liked both backups better than him and told him to go away. His college coach didn’t think he was good enough to qb Alabama.
@BenjaminSolak The Rams are brilliant. But his college coach was like nah, he can’t beat out seattles backup, watched him play a year and said, we’re good, we like both of our back ups better. Go somewhere else
