@nimalan12_ This is why we Tamils want to separate from Sinhalese. The racist government and supporters pushed a war in the country and still the oppression continues. We will raise our voice until the accountability will be made.
In 2004, Shah Rukh Khan was the target of a grenade attack during a concert in Colombo. Two civilians were killed and many injured. The Sri Lankan state immediately blamed the LTTE but the real attackers were Sinhalese Buddhist monks linked to extremist groups. To this day, those monks remain protected by the government.
@HMVijithaHerath states that not only vehemently DENIES that a genocide took place in Mullivaikkal but also legal action will be taken against anyone "wrongfully" using the word genocide... this is a clear violation of free speech!

#SriLanka 16 ans après la fin du conflit entre le gouvernement et les Tigres de libération de l'Eelam tamoul (LTTE), de nombreuses femmes tamoules ayant subi des agressions sexuelles et d’autres abus attendent toujours la justice.
@UNSriLanka@UN 70 years ago, it joined the #UN. From the beginning, it has committed and continues to commit genocide, as stated in UN reports. However, the UN has been unable to take any action. As a result, there is nothing to be proud of in this membership

@AdameMedia This is what #SriLanka did in 2009 in #TamilEelam. They are doing exactly the same after 16 years in #Gaza. This is a #Genocide, stete sponsored #Genocide while the international communities keep the silence for their interests.
@iThe_Rebel We agree your point, TamilEelam is our goal but some swiss politicians are making this stamente that everything is finished there and ppl can live peacefully. We want to show them the difference.

@CanadianPM Thank you, PM @Carney, for acknowledging Tamil Genocide Remembrance Day. Your solidarity means a lot to Swiss Tamil youth. We remember, we seek justice, and we value global voices standing with us. #NeverForget#TamilGenocideRemembrance
Today, we mark Tamil Genocide Remembrance Day, commemorating 16 years since the end of the armed conflict in Sri Lanka in which the government committed a mass genocide against the Tamil people. Many survivors fled and escaped to Canada for safety.
We remember the lives lost, the families shattered and the communities forever impacted. We stand with Brampton and Canada’s Tamil community, who continue to carry the weight of this pain and the memory of loved ones.
This year holds special significance as Brampton is now home to the Tamil Genocide Memorial Monument – a powerful symbol of remembrance. The monument stands as a reminder of the past and a call to action for a future built on truth, accountability and peace. We hope for a day when the Rajapaksa regime’s war criminals are finally held accountable for their crimes against humanity.
Let us honour the victims by committing ourselves to justice, to remembrance, and to standing together in solidarity — today and always. @ncctonline@CityBrampton
