“I wish I had heard about Typesense earlier”.

We kept hearing this from new users. So we decided to do something about it.

We just launched HUNDREDS of billboards all over San Francisco.

All feedback is welcome

[Jason Bosco @jasonbosco]

We added a tool for AI agents using our @Typesense Cloud MCP server to submit feedback about paper cuts they're experiencing as they work with our MCP Server...

And we got our first agent-written feedback today.

What interesting times we live in

@svpino @typesense I can vouch for @typesense too, insanely fast and super easy to implement. been using it for my own project https://t.co/Ir8L3LLpgI

Oh hey, that’s Typesense on a San Francisco bus ad in this video at 01:22

[Varadh Jain @varadh]

Took the sign to the streets of SF to talk to our customers

Stoked to hear this! Thank you for the feedback ❤️

[Patra 🧨 @babasignedin]

The docs of @typesense is so well written! love it

[typesense | @typesense]

Love hearing this! 🙌

Shout out to @typesense for building a great product.

Our engineering team loved Elastic Search and wanted to use Elastic for some of search scenarios, but since we are early and don't have a ton of users using Elastic didn't really feel like the right amount of engineering effort. Typesense is a great alternative with some good vector capabilities and runs great with our agents.

Will share more around our experience with it in future.

Search powered by Typesense! 👏

Choosing an npm package can require comparing maintenance, bundle size, downloads, compatibility, and alternatives across many options.

https://t.co/p7W1DEMpR0 is an npm registry for AI agents that provides automated package comparisons, real-time scoring, and an MCP server for AI coding assistants.

It scores packages from 0 to 100 using weighted downloads, bundle size, freshness, community, and quality factors.

Key features:
• Automated comparisons across 50+ categories using formula-based scoring.
• Live package metrics for downloads, bundle size, and maintenance.
• Alternative discovery for finding replacements for any package.
• MCP tools for package search, metadata, health checks, comparisons, alternatives, category lookups, and install compatibility validation.
• Sub-50ms search powered by Typesense Cloud.

Font Awesome dot com is now powered by Typesense Search 💪

[Jason Bosco @jasonbosco]

This email was the highlight of my week!

Font Awesome just switched from Algolia to a self-hosted @typesense cluster to power their search bar!

For all the value I've gotten from @FontAwesome over the years (thank you for the icons through the bootstrap integration), I'm thrilled that I'm finally able to return the favor through the magic of open source software.

@RobMadole, Principal Software Engineer at Font Awesome had this to say:

"We compared Algolia, Postgres Full-Text Search, and Meilisearch to Typesense.

We chose Typesense for the Algolia Vue component compatibility, the embedded vector, and the ease of deploying (snapshot to the rescue) and ability to tune results".

The moment they switched over to Typesense, Rob sent me this email:

[typesense | @typesense]

We’re very excited about this! 🙌

[Ruby on Rails @rails]

Active Search gives #Rails a single, Active Record-style interface for searching across Elasticsearch, Meilisearch, Typesense, and database full-text search. @37signals built it to let Basecamp and Fizzy swap search engines between SaaS and self-hosted versions without rewriting application code, and now Donal McBreen is coming to #RailsWorld to show you how it works. #ActiveSearch https://t.co/1scM49Ysz6

Can you believe how many exciting startups are powered by Ruby?

We'll have a few founders of successful Ruby startups speak at the conference this November, including:

- @jasonbosco from @typesense
- @Cole__Robertson from @rebulkai
- @paolino from @chat_with_work
- @excid3 from @GoRails

Come see them! Grab your tickets: https://t.co/OHNhAp53kN

@jasonbosco @typesense @fontawesome Typesense is incredible, man you've built a phenomenal product - it powered a few million searches a day for us at my last company and was just amazingly well thought out kit

[San Francisco Ruby Conference, Nov 10-12, 2026 @sfrubyconf]

typesense is a Ruby Sponsor for the 2026 edition of the conference 🎉

@typesense is an open source, typo-tolerant search engine built for instant sub-50ms search with a delightful DX.

You probably know typesense from the HUNDREDS of billboards and Muni buses all over San Francisco. But did you know it's fully revenue-funded?

No VC, just happy users. What an inspiration! 🙌

Entering the speaker lounge: Jason Bosco (@jasonbosco)

He's the founder of Typesense, a bootstrapped, open-source search engine built on Rails. It handles 10+ billion searches every month.

We're excited to have him on stage.

Introducing TypesenseKit

A simple open source toolkit that gives humans and AI agents 95 typed @typesense operations.

- CLI + MCP, one shared surface
- Read-only by default
- Writes stay opt-in
- Open source, MIT licensed

[typesense | @typesense]

@vipulnsward Happy to support!

[akshit.io @akshit_io]

Built TypesenseKit for folks operating @typesense from terminals and AI agents.

CLI for repeatable admin/search workflows.
MCP server for agent access.

Would love feedback from the Typesense community.

@modelsagree @pinecone Interesting project!

[typesense | @typesense]

@5katkov @GregMolnar Yes we do! We use Rails on Typesense Cloud.

[Charly Wargnier ♨️ @DataChaz]

Seriously.

@Typesense might be one of the most underrated tools in modern infra 💥

You get:
→ Typo-tolerant search
→ Faceted search
→ Vector / semantic search
→ Fast response times
→ Optional self-hosting etc..

An @algolia-like API experience at a fraction of the price 👀
