So is it a great idea to 100% remove tech that students will then use on assessments? Let's face it the assessment companies determine A LOT like @CollegeBoard for instance, but if we don't prepare students to use the tools for these important assessments (whether important for them or the teacher is a whole separate conversation) won't they just click to Submit button sooner than we would hope as a way to escape what they perceive as a difficult situation? I think we've overdone Tech at the youngest grades, yes, but to remove it completely will have far reaching implications in my opinion 🤷♂️
We are having an incredible week at @TCEA 2026! 🍎✨
The floor is buzzing, and the demos are in full swing. If you’re walking the exhibit hall, make sure to stop by the Typesy booth and catch our Sales Director, Rick. He’s on-site through Wednesday, February 4th, ready to show you how we’re transforming K-12 keyboarding and digital citizenship. ⌨️🚀
Come say hi and see what’s new!

If you are an educator in Indiana, Michigan, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York or Washington D.C. please connect. I'd love to show you two amazing software platforms in @TypesyApp and @WordelaApp . If in another state, country, or continent I'll connect you with a respective colleague. These #keyboarding/#digitalliteracy and #vocabularyacquisition/#spellingmastery platforms are world class!
Here’s what no one wants to admit about standardized testing:
The kids who score high?
Most of them were already wired for it.
Right temperament.
Right zip code.
Right support.
Right personality for sitting still and bubbling circles for two hours.
But the kids who struggle?
That’s where teachers do the REAL work.
Teachers are the ones who take a child who panics, freezes, reads slowly, or processes differently —
and still help them learn, grow, and succeed.
Teachers don’t measure potential.
They unlock it.
Tests don’t change kids.
Teachers do.
Teachers facilitate learning, not testing.
Years ago at @ISTEofficial I met the one and only @NicholasFerroni . Today I met another educational legend in @tomwhitby at @NYSCATE . Also, I saw @mrhooker from afar which was pretty cool too. Maybe he will stop by the @TypesyApp and @WordelaApp booths tomorrow...hint, hint 😉
