@DTonPirates Even they are willing to spend, will guys choose to join Pittsburgh if they have similar offers with any other teams? They aren’t going to win any bidding wars… and any impact players will have choices. They are going to have choose the Pirates. Will they?

@cecchiniandrew @Alex_Kozora How often do 3rd round picks make the team win a lot more games in their rookie season? They are two years away from being real good with or without trading Pickens today. I would have preferred to watch the offense it looked like they were gonna be putting out there.

@garymo2007 Correct. But he’s just getting started. We can feel good about a young guy getting to finish a game like that and he knows he was far from dominant.

@DTonPirates @1992Pirates Ultimately at this level it’s about the players getting it done. Sure the coach has some influence… but there’s really only so much they can do with MLB players. Doesn’t mean they don’t have responsibility though.
