Well @Apple gutting / removing PWA support after just *eventually* adding (half arsed support) for it YEARS after its been a web standard is just so so anticompetitive and scummy.

This (see link) is on the beta release of iOS and is in direct opposition to the whole purpose of the regulation imposed by the @EU_Commission

They're just laughing at you @EU_Commission

[Maximiliano Firtman @firt]

It seems it wasn’t a bug 😡

🔥Apple may remove PWA support for European users, a feature launched by Steve Jobs in 2008.

👉It also means no Web Push.

⚠️Installed PWAs may lose their storage and will render a dialog saying “it will open from your default browser from now on”

[Tyson Matanich @tysonmatanich]

Apple’s latest beta breaks PWAs! 🙀 Hoping this is an honest mistake and not I glimpse into the future. Progressive Web Apps are such awesome tech that I wish would be embraced more.

Breaking: Did Apple just break Web Apps in iOS 17.4 Beta (EU)?

My wife & I edited/published a book for our kids’ homeschool group! Art is by 55 kids aged 3-12. It’s about our local salmon & has lots of educational facts! 100% of our profits go back to their school.

@thephysicsgirl Lots with ME/CFS have great success with the Curable app. It helped rid me of chronic pain and other symptoms I thought were lifelong. I was hesitant to try an app but was desperate. Uses latest neuroscience to help the mind/body feel safe so it can heal. Hope she improves soon!

@verge And it will always be free just like Google Apps Legacy… oh wait 🤥

[Tyson Matanich @tysonmatanich]

@GoogleWorkspace Essentials is NOT a replacement for Google Apps Legacy! It will be free you said… until you changed your mind.

[Tyson Matanich @tysonmatanich]

@googledocs @GoogleWorkspace It’s “free” until 10 years later and you start charging like Google Apps legacy. Lies!

[Tyson Matanich @tysonmatanich]

@GoogleWorkspace @InboundFrog Provide a way for users to seamlessly migrate to gmail accounts. You provide a way to export data no way to import it to a new account. Quit holding our data hostage. We were your first adopters and beta testers that helped promote your platform and now you give us the finger.

[Ben Francis @bfrancis]

Can't help but feel @GoogleWorkspace should have figured out a way to convert a Google Workspace account into a Google One account before discontinuing the G Suite Legacy Free Edition. Lots of unhappy families around the world feel their 16 years of data is being held to ransom.

[Tyson Matanich @tysonmatanich]

Google Workspace = ransom pay for my data.

[Tyson Matanich @tysonmatanich]

Legacy #GoogleWorkspace accounts aren't free loaders any more than anyone else with a free Gmail account.
