The secret is out for how to avoid an emergency room visit, hospitalization and dying from covid.
It's called vaccination.

Interpretation:
Early and strong functional Fc-receptor mediated IgG responses are important in combating severe #COVID19. S2 cross-reactivity may not necessarily be directly providing protection but rather helping jump-start the immune response.
The patient had a whopping (8g) dose of a #SARSCoV2 neutralizing IgG antibody cocktail. Then they detected antibodies. You must be kidding me, Dr. Conley?
Check out our new paper on early antibody features associated with #COVID19 outcome.
1) A minimal set of features able to distinguish groups
2) Shift in spike > nucleoprotein reponses in those who recovered

We can see a lot of 'Auschwitz' mentions recently. Remember that a preserved historic site does not equal a statue erected to honor a person. The two have entirely different roles, contexts, messages & meanings. Drawing a simple comparison here is incorrect.
Beyond directly blocking infection, antibodies help coordinate the immune response. Antibody signatures can have both protective and detrimental effects. Defining these signatures can tell us more about #COVID19 and how to best design vaccines.
I’m joining #8CantWait to urge local mayors to enact policies that have the power to reduce police violence that results in death in our major cities by up to 72%. I urge you to join me. We simply can’t wait — too much is at stake. Learn more: https://t.co/NPFeNGi68q
@PalYurich76 @ExcludedMuddle @VirusesImmunity@HKUniversity Important depends on definition, and antibodies have other important functions past neutralization (mediating phagocytosis, complement deposition, and NK granulation). I think its too early to say which antigen is truly important.
Treatment news! 5 critically ill COVID patients (on ventilators) received antibody-rich plasma from 5 other patients who had recovered from COVID.
Results: 3 discharged; 2 in stable condition!
Now 1 of my recovering patients wants to donate his plasma!

11 patients placed on ventilators in one day shift. There’s still one hour left. Unprecedented. The curve is not flat. Please stay home, Boston.

An important diagnostic test to screen for antibodies against SARS-CoV-2. This will inform on past infection, is vital to understanding true infection rates, and will be instrumental in helping clearing individuals while mitigating concerns of infection.
Goes without saying but if you’re a researcher who uses RNA extraction kits (and not working on #COVID19) please consider pausing these experiments so these kits can be diverted to testing
