This afternoon, we met with Deputy Minister in the Presidency Mr Kenneth Morolong as part of the City of Tshwane hosting the Urban20 African Mayors’ Assembly and Sherpa Meeting. The Presidency hosted the mayoral executive and our international guests for a tour of the Union Buildings. We updated the Deputy Minister about the City’s successful hosting of the two-day conference. #U20SouthAfrica @CityTshwane

On the final day of the #U20SherpaMeeting & #AfricanMayorsAssembly the Executive Mayor @nasiphim thanked the Presidency for hosting delegates at the Union Buildings - showcasing our nation’s governance heritage & spirit of Ubuntu. The visit, graced by Deputy Minister in the Presidency Kenny Morolong, included an unforgettable Dinokeng safari, celebrating Africa’s iconic Big Five. Day 2 of the Urban20 African Mayors’ Assembly and Sherpa Meeting. My first session was speaking at the South African Local Government Association session focused on the Localisation of Sustainable Development Goals. On behalf of the City of Tshwane, I signed a declaration committing the City to fully implementing the localisation of the SDGs.
