Twice in one week. First a citizen from Quebec, now from Winnipeg. My heart bleeds for them. This must stop. This is Canada. We are not an impoverished nation. This is why the work uCarenet is doing with organizations like William Osler is important https://t.co/MHaYCxRdjT
This unacceptable. This is Canada a rich country that is failing its citizens. When will the Government finally admit to people that they need to arrange their own Plan B. This is very sad https://t.co/RWaScDS76R
@maritstiles I agree @DrSamirSinha. Full stop. I’m wondering with wait lists at 38,000 and growing how does Bill 7 solve the ALC problem? Another failed attempt
@AlexM_UT The current measures are draconian. It is shameful that patients will lose their right to consent. Consent should be at the family level not patient. My dad was 94 had early dementia. When asked to go to LTC he agreed. Two months later dad died of COVID in LTC.
@DrVivianS@drmwarner I agree targeting woman is wrong. uCarenet’s homecare platform, which is free, has over 5,000 independent caregivers. Many are certified health workers. How about subsidising home care. Providing employment opportunities and keeping woman out of poverty
@OntarioHealthC Excellent fact check with a spot light on reality. There are simply too many interests, both political and commercial, at play to truly solve the problem
@AmitAryaMD The government has the wrong approach. LTC and CHCC is failing. Ontario should follow the example of other OECD countries and provide funding for self directed care ie Germany Australia Italy
"Loneliness needs to be taken seriously because it's been seen to be as risky as smoking 15 cigarettes a day." @SinaiHealth/@UHN Director of Geriatrics, @DrSamirSinha, speaks to @ChrisWalkerCBC about social isolation among older adults on @CBCKelowna. https://t.co/28XIPz9Qrl
The “There’s No Place Like Home: What Long Term Care Can and Should Look Like” session with Director of Geriatrics at @SinaiHealth/@UHN, @DrSamirSinha, is about to begin!
@forlittlekeira What a beautiful little girl. I love the curly hair. My parents lost twin girls and I don’t think you ever fully recover. My heart is with you
