More than a month since getting the first email, the news is only starting to sink in. John was one of my favourite people; in academia and beyond. I feel bereft at losing a guide and mentor but will always feel richer that I got to work with him and learn so much from him!
We are deeply saddened to share the passing of John McDowell, a beloved professor at Virginia Tech. His research on plant-pathogen interactions, along with his compassion and dedication to students and colleagues, left an enduring impact ⤵️ https://t.co/8bG5j7eRlz
