Let’s do the math.
Total votes after abstentions: 87
BJP = 28 → solid bloc
Remaining 59 = the so-called “united” camp
If even one bloc had stayed loyal, NC should’ve swept all four seats.
But BJP got 32.
That’s 4 extra votes.
Four votes that came not from the BJP, but from inside the opposition.

Deputy CM Surinder Kumar Choudhary asking “who is MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi?” is startling. A leader who served as a 3-time MLA (2002-2018) and now MP from Srinagar, held key portfolios and for years insisted that political life demands morals, duty and service. Meanwhile the question comes from someone who has jumped three parties in recent years — from PDP to BJP to NC, won on the NC wave in Nowshera only last year.
