Medication adherence = the fifth vital sign.
At @ISHLT 2026, Sabina De Geest highlights that nonadherence post-transplant is common—and measurable.
From self-reports ➝ digital pills ➝ drug level monitoring, the future is objective, continuous, and data-driven.
Very interesting model!

Management of Apixaban HeartMate 3 BTT pts within the DOT-HM3 Study; online in JCF. Outcomes at discharge post-HTx positive; considerable morbidity, though. Judicious use in select patients may be considered while weighing all risks and benefits on an individual patient level.
We are pleased to inform that our DOT-HM3 Trial results in partnership between IKEM and The Brigham Harvard just got online! Our results suggest a safety signal of Apixaban use with the HM3 up to a 6-months time point in stable LVAD patients. https://t.co/98omoxGm2W
