The award is the latest example of how the media has become a ship of fools. Journalists now report for each other as the vast majority of Americans seek alternatives. They continue to replicate their own views and mistakes rather than abandon their bias. https://t.co/Rm9HZCq3jT

Tanya is a gifted and fearless journalist. "60 Minutes" is fortunate to land her.

[Ben Mullin @BenMullin]

news: "60 Minutes" has hired Tanya Lukyanova, a video journalist at The Free Press, to be an associate producer, per source familiar. Before Tanya joined The Free Press, she worked for Bloomberg, Semafor and the Wall Street Journal.

Lab leak was never a “baseless conspiracy theory,” and it was always irresponsible (worse than irresponsible?) to describe it as such before the pandemic origins had been definitively traced.

No podcaster has talked into a mic with more intellectual integrity, humor, stamina and knowledge of the world's flags than @pescami @PescaGist

After 12 years + 2 months Mike will be stepping away from The Gist. As he explains in yesterday's episode, podcasting has become video, algorithms, and clips becoming more important than shows. These are the realities of the attention economy, but not really where he wanted to be putting his attention. But keep listening as we say goodbye and launch a new chapter.

At the University of Colorado, Boulder Students for Justice in Palestine, honored the “man who sacrificed his comfort and his proximity to empire, willingly expending his own liberty in attaining his objective." The man? Mohamed Sabry Soliman who burned to death a Jewish woman...

Give me a break. I worked at Viacom/CBS (now Paramount) for over a decade. Of course, it was +90% Democrats.

Everyone knows this. Everyone.

And newsrooms in particular vote Democrat to a higher degree than Berkeley, California.

And you know what? Fine. I have lots of friends with whom I disagree from my time there. It was a great place, actually.

To act as if this claim about bias is controversial, let alone inaccurate, shows that he’s either a liar, an imbecile, or so deeply incurious and tunnel-visioned that you don’t belong anywhere near any job involving information discernment.

But he’s got that familiar anchor voice, so we’re supposed to act like he’s not being a complete clown. Give me a break. You people are a mess.

NPR being NPR:" A new study suggests that the National Guard's presence has done little to reduce violent crime in Washington, D.C., despite the steep cost.."
Eventually you learn there was a "24% reduction in opportunistic crimes, like theft or vehicle break-ins"--the sort of pervasive crime that destroys a sense of order. If you ran for mayor on that 24% reduction you'd have a solid platform.

When I was young, the Southern Poverty Law Center was one of the most respected organizations in the country. To see what it’s become over the past 25 years is shocking. It’s now beyond the point of redemption. https://t.co/tusKoh4xPH

How does a liberal college student go from volunteering for Elizabeth Warren and climate causes… to chanting “Death to America” in Iran?

That’s the question investigative reporter @FPJaySolomon set out to solve when he started looking into the disturbing story of Calla Walsh.

Woodward and Bernstein didn’t have this many un-named sources—

“A long time media exec”
“one producer”
“One senior reporter”
“An editor”
“A former Opinions columnist”
“A former classmate
“Another person”
“A former Free Press employee”

And many more…

Venezuela used to be much wealthier than Poland, which was suffering under socialism. Then Poland implemented free-market and capitalist principles and enjoyed an economic boom.

Venezuela chose socialism, which brought poverty and misery to its people.

That’s the difference.

"On too many stories, the press has missed the story. Because we've taken into account the perspective of advocates and not the average American. Or we put too much weight in the analysis of academics or elites, and not enough on you."

That changes now. The new CBS Evening News starts Monday at 6:30 p.m. ET on CBS.

Much of the coverage by the BBC and its allies this morning is utterly unhinged. This is not “a coup”. This is not “a right-wing plot”. This is not “Boris Johnson”. This is not “Robbie Gibb”. This is about a taxpayer-funded broadcaster which on everything from immigration to trans, British history to Israel, Donald Trump to our borders, has relentlessly pursued a systemically biased liberal progressive groupthink that represents no more than 15% of the country, and which is now being called out.
