There is this guy that nearly every other member of staff in my hotel hates. Because he gets all the tips. He served me once when I stayed at the hotel and it wasn't remarkable.

When he came, he said he remembered from last time I started here TWO MONTHS ago that I don't like the mashed potato's so he called in a favour with the chef and got him to swap the mashed potatoes for vegetables as he knows I prefer healthy options. my guy loaned his friend part of the money he used to japa a few years ago, now he has paid my guy back. but earlier this year he asked for his help to clear two lexus cars he shipped in, as he didn't have any family or someone he can trust in lagos.

as per his guy, he was happy to help. did all the running around and got the cars out quickly, then was arranging for them to be sent to asaba as directed, only to be told that one of the cars was for him.

mind you, he got married late last year and they are expecting. he used to tell me how pained he was that his wife takes cabs to ante-natal and how he was hoping for a miracle to buy to a car before the baby arrives, as it will make their lives easier.

well, christmas has come early for them. hard guy like me had tears in my eyes, cos this is so thoughtful.
