The motivation is to provide continuous fluid immersion for the audience right there with him as he executes an incredibly risky escape. Also to look cool as fuck. What's the problem?
@lebatardshowfan I'm not even a Nolan superfan, but I can admit he is one of the most popular directors working today. Everyone from normies to cinephiles are on his dick.
@sonyashea3 This movie is partially why most straight-up music biopics bore me. Have no interest in the real Bowie biopic when we got this masterpiece right here.
@Skylinex13 This is my thinking exactly. You can't depend on your nostalgia alone to make a movie a success. Most Gen Xers have moved on from their favorite cartoons and if the property isn't hooking a new generation, your kids movie isn't going to get butts in seats.
@CoraBuhlert You can't just rely on your generation to want to watch a movie made for kids. The fact of the matter is MOTU never made an impact outside of the 80s, the same way other franchises from the time did. Plus, most adults who loved the show as kids have moved on to more mature stuff.
@Trans_Idi1t Not long after that, he poisons a child to manipulate Jesse into going along with an assassination. People are on their phones while watching this fucking show, I swear to fuck.
@PurpyNFL Like, Tracey Jordan is only partially Martin Lawrence at the beginning of the series, but it became pretty clear going on that it was just Morgan playing a version of himself.
@abndesigns The fact that they said that name on Top 40 radio. Like, I can't tell you if Death Cab for Cutie as a band name has any problematic associations, but I can sure as hell tell you how CHERRY POPPIN DADDIES is fucked up.
@2ne1TV@cateonfilm But it doesn't work for the other movies on the list. The other films are about people obsessed with being the best in their field. It WOULD work if it were put in a list with Fatal Attraction, Vertigo, and Obsession, movies about people being obsessed with other people.
@punkinomenon This right here. Mima just seems like a people pleaser, and (aside from being stalked) most of her inner turmoil comes from not wanting to disappoint people, not from trying to be the best at anything. If anything, what she really wants is to be a normal person.
