That quote is the first thing I see when I walk into my office every morning.
What a beautiful reminder to be the best version of me possible …
… day in, and day out.
Entry from June 16th, 2020:
“I wish I was an ARTIST. We spend so much of our lives wishing for what we don’t have, but I don’t know how to live another one. It’s a conundrum.”
When you think about it, UX design is kind of like having superpowers because you get to solve problems and change how people behave in the real world.
“In a world filled with so much creative potential, it is dangerous to assume that all the good ideas are found at the top.”
— Creative Confidence, by Tom Kelley and David Kelley
Equally important to acknowledge the struggles. I also graduated without job plans, completed numerous rounds of job interviews, received rejection, reevaluated the priority of my own side business …
… and I still haven’t done “Shania karaoke”.
In 2021, I:
🎓 Graduated university
🖥 Launched my UX career
🏠 Moved into my own apartment
🏞 Hiked in Glacier, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton National Parks
💉 Got vaccinated and boosted
🥑 Advanced as a chef
💪 Kept a consistent workout routine
☕️ Remained attached to coffee
No matter how much you learn or study about UX design, there is always room to improve yourself even more. And the only way you can do that is by doing it, not just thinking about it.
