The unfortunate and dishonourable drama witnessed in Ibom Air has again brought to the fore the double standards in our lives and the inadequacies of our various security operatives in acting decently and in a civilised manner.

I want to start by sincerely apologising to the Ibom Air crew who were assaulted by Miss Comfort Emmanson. We must, as a society, learn and uphold good conduct, as it is a true measure of success and decent living.

However, I must equally strongly condemn the dehumanising treatment meted out to this young woman. Stripping her publicly was not only unnecessary but also represents the height of rascality and abuse by our agencies. It is unacceptable that she was hurriedly taken to court and remanded, while someone who visibly held a plane from taking off and put hundreds of lives at risk is still at large, with government agencies and some state officials speaking up for him to be forgiven.

This case is not just about one young woman, it is about the double standards that poison our justice system. Justice in Nigeria must never be about who is poor or powerless versus who has influence or access to government officials.

While Ms. Comfort Emmanson is in jail, the other offender who committed a more severe offence has not been held to the same standard. He has neither been arrested nor arraigned in any court.

We must build a country where justice is fair, equal, and not selective, especially against women who are seen to be weaker. This young lady’s offence does not compare to the crimes committed daily by those parading themselves as “excellencies” while looting public funds without consequence, and yet they have not been stripped or dehumanised in the name of justice.

We must end this selective treatment of the poor or less privileged. If justice must be served, it should be served to all, and it must be served fairly. The Minister of Aviation and other relevant authorities owe the public an explanation for these double standards in their adjudication.
Justice must be just, or it is nothing at all.

The rule of law based on justice for all must remain the guidepost of our democracy.

16) She cannot go out to anywhere without your permission, neither can your kids. But you can without recourse to anyone. You just need to inform them if you wish.

17) You're the only one that has the ultimate right & authority to decide if your children will marry their chosen spouses or not.

18) The society sees you as a responsible man, & accords you certain rights and respect.

19) You'll live longer because someone is checking your diet & giving you peace of mind & good fucks.

20) You'll always obtain favour from God because you have found your wife.

These are a few benefits of marriage to a man.

Africans are very interesting people.

Your continent has the most countries of any continent in the world (54) and has EVERY human and natural resource necessary for every kind of activity known to man.

Instead of advocating for those 54 countries to cooperate and aggregate their resources for rapid development that would be even more spectacular than that of China, young Africans who claim to be educated are rather accepting gigs from foreign embassies to shill naked, unhidden imperialism. Osino "As much as we want to be fully independent and free, I think we need international support."

The same "international support" that tried to start a regional war in West Africa just 19 months ago. The young African idiots cannot ask themselves "Why is it impossible to drive from Accra to Nairobi in a straight line; or carry out a transaction between Abuja and Kampala using only NGN/UGX; or fly from Kigali to Lusaka without paying more than it costs to fly from Kigali to Doha?"

They cannot see that there are forces actively obstructing Africa's ability to mobilise its own resources for internal cooperation and rapid development, and that their generational challenge is to ensure that Africans can trade, transact, and travel freely within Africa - because that is the only scenario where Africa has any kind of future.

They rather prefer to collect social media shill gigs for a few pennies, with which they hope to eventually save up enough money to get a visa and a flight ticket to run away and become an unpaid anti-racism activist in a white man's country.

One of the easiest ways to identify "rich" Nigerians who are yet to move beyond survival mode and defeat the poverty that lives rent-free inside their minds is that they do not understand the value of things, but they are hyperresponsive to branding and price tags.

They do not understand precisely where a Tesla is meant to be used and for what, or how vastly impractical it is to run an electric vehicle in an environment where you charge it with a diesel generator, roads are not properly marked (making assisted driving impossible), and the 50⁰C+ ambient temperature in Lagos traffic potentially turns that huge lithium-ion battery into a giant explosive fire hazard.

They either don't know any of this or don't care - because the real purpose of driving that Tesla in Lagos is to show off a giant payment receipt on 4 wheels. Thus the Model S used very commonly to do Uber in London becomes a status symbol for the "rich-poor" in Lagos, complete with vanity license plates saying "FUEL LOL."

They are the ones who upload the receipts for their overpriced watches and jewellery on Instagram because it is not enough that you merely see that they have "nice" things - you must know *how much* they paid for them. Because the usefulness of the "nice" things is not in the value those things create, but in the price itself. Money is what gives things value to these types, which is why they cheerfully and regularly overpay for everything under the sun - as long as the world knows how much they paid.

That's why they all buy the same impractical, unserviceable cars that they eventually put into storage to gather dust after driving for 6 months; they all try to fuck the same 10 instagram whores in a country with at least 100 million eligible women; and they all live in the same smelly, waterlogged, gigantically overpriced neighbourhoods within a few hundred metres of each other.

They're the ones who proudly and joyfully announce that they paid N6 billion for a "luxury mansion in Ikoyi" that has a diesel generator, an underground shit storage tank, a rudimentary access road surfaced with interlocking paving stones, a constant flooding problem, a huge tree trunk planted into the pavement to hold a mess of ugly electricity wires, and a permanent bad smell from an empty plot of land next door filled with refuse and mosquito-laden stagnant water.

Here's an idea:

Instead of training a new generation of Nigerians to spend their lives being monkeys in suits just like their parents, perennially striving to be who and what they are not - and doomed to fail miserably at it - why not try something different?

Why not look at the data and see that Nigeria is already the world's 3rd largest English-speaking country, and will be the 2nd largest by the time these kids are 40, so instead of teaching them to desire to be other people, you teach them that they are important enough to be the centre of their own world?

How about you teach them that their country is destined to be a very important country in the world and that their generation will be the most important in its history, so they should focus on history, economics, commerce, geopolitics, STEM, energy, government and defence?

How about you teach a new generation of Nigerians to see themselves as people who deserve to have a seat at the table with the rest of the world as they are, and not caterpillars who must shed something about their identity before they can blossom into global butterflies?

Why are you teaching Nigerian kids that there is something undesirable about the way they talk? Why are you still passing on your low self-esteem and generational trauma to these innocent children? What did they do to deserve this?
