Why do we allow ‘Casino Capitalism’ to determine the price we pay for fossil fuels? Even when those fossil fuels are produced in our own country (we paid x10 more for our North Sea gas in the energy crisis than before). This is the result: egregious levels of profit & shareholder dividends, all of it siphoned directly from our energy bills (it even costs lives) - for no reason other than greed. Excused as just being how the markets work.
We can break free from this rip-off system with Energy Independence from our own green energy. There’s no global system setting the price of the wind and sun; we can make it here and price it here, and have permanently low bills - forever. Not to mention a shed load of jobs, twice as many for every £ than fossil fuel investment gives us.
What on earth?! This is the guy the UN gave the leadership of #COP28 to, and said it would be OK - and this is what he believes…. he’s a climate denier in effect. It’s crazy to read this, f ing crazy. https://t.co/h1FMBL9g9w
FINALLY ENERGY STANDING CHARGES TO BE REVIEWED. Thank you @ofgem for listening at last, I hope you will listen in the review too. 90% want standing charges lowered or scrapped, though we need to protect vulnerable high users with illness or disability.
It has been a long fought campaign to get this morally hazardous energy poll tax looked at, a flat £300 a year just to have energy meters is too much. I will put more info out in future on how you can feed into the consultation. But to start...

Today, after yesterday's #IPCC report, everything is back to normal – as always. We continue to ignore the climate crisis as if nothing happened. Our societies are still in denial, and those in power go on with their never ending quests to maximise profits. We cannot afford this.
