Starlink is being used by Ukraine to kill enemy combatants who have invaded their country. You yourself said that Starlink is under the management and control of the Department of War. That’s war, you jackass, not peace. When Putin stops his aggression, then and only then will true peace come to Ukraine. I don’t know how you managed to become the most wealthy person in the world. I am beginning to think your intelligence had nothing to do with it.
@WhiteHouse What a joke! This president has done more to undermine the trust of U S citizens, allies and friends than anyone dead or alive. He has been an absolute disaster.
And yet the Ukrainians continue to fight and die for their country. Maybe they don’t measure their worth as human beings on monetary terms as you apparently do. And to call this out on Ukraine while completely ignoring Putin’s Russian oligarchy as the height of hypocrisy. It is apparent where your allegiance lies. Follow the money as if you already don’t have enough of it already.
@USAmbNATO@POTUS Putin can stop the killing, you moron. He is having Russia wage a war of aggression against Ukraine. What part of that don’t you understand? You’re just as contemptibly stupid as the rest of the sycophants of the Trump administration.
@WSJ So? WTF, WSJ. Witkoff can thank Putin for cooperating in the release of Hubbard without having to call Putin a humanitarian. It speaks volumes of Witkoff’s judgment and since Witkoff is Trump’s envoy, by extension, it speaks volumes of Trump’s judgment.
Yes, Yalta was a disaster. It led to Churchill eventually saying that an iron curtain had fallen across Europe. Trump does not seem to understand that since the Russian Federation under Putin no longer has the Soviet Union in its name that somehow Russia is our friend. The Russia now is no different than the Russia as part of the USSR. Putin served in the KGB in the USSR as did most of the Kremlin’s current siloviki. Trump is endangering our national security. International relations are not transnational business dealings. Trump is being played for a fool, as minimum, and at worst, he is colluding by giving aid and comfort to our external enemies. And make no mistake, were Ukraine to fall, Moldova and the Baltic states are next. The security underpinnings that have been in place since WWII are being threatened. Those underpinnings have kept this country safe.
@SecretaryWright@WhiteHouse Well, he is failing miserably. The only thing he has been very successful at is making him, his extended family, and his cronies even more wealthy.
There is something seriously wrong with the Republican Party. Its leader is siding with an enemy of this country. Does one think that just because Russia no longer has the Soviet Union as part of its moniker it is no less a threat? Its leader was part of that regime, part of its dreaded security apparatus, the KGB. Read the words of Putin. Listen to his speeches about Russia. Nothing has changed except for communism being used as its economic model (what was known as the “command economy” - instead of market forces determining supply and demand, the government would do so). The Russian foreign policy under Putin is no different than the foreign policy of the USSR. Russia may no longer export Soviet communism but it does export Russian nationalism. Now our country hitherto the leader of the free world has as its commander-in-chief, the leader of its armed forces, witnessing the shocking spectacle of him taking the side of an enemy, furthering its interests, supporting its aim of conquest and domination. There can be no more dangerous man to our national security than Trump. He needs to be removed from office. But the party appears to do nothing. It looks the other way. Buries its head in the sand and pretends this villain is making America great again. He is doing no such thing. Putin wants America to be great again? Think again you deluded MAGA fools. Putin wants this country divided, weak, prostrate, its alliances torn asunder, its friends abandoning it, its people submissive and compliant in the face of external threat driven by the complacency and false sense of security of their isolationist beliefs. All furthered by Trump. What better friend and ally does Putin have than OUR president. Trumpism will be the end of this country as we have come to know it, a bastion of liberty, a bulwark against tyranny and oppression, that beacon on the hill. That light is going out and if we the American people do nothing, night will come for us all.
By executive fiat, Trump just eviscerated the entirety of the recently enacted Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act as it applies to Russia and did so on national security grounds. His executive order also removed secondary sanctions on India and China trading with Russia.
The undisclosed national security interest? Thinking he will avoid the expected shellacking of the Republican Party in the midterms by reducing the cost of diesel fuel and other petroleum products to voting Americans. The sacrificial lamb on the altar of Trump’s vanity? The people of Ukraine as Russia reaps a windfall to further fund Putin’s war aims.
This is also about Trump protecting him, his family, and various contentious administration figures such as Hegseth by hoping to prevent the Democratic Party from gaining control of the Senate and the House and turning Trump into a lame duck whilst avoiding the expected deluge of congressional subpoenas and perhaps, even for the third time, his impeachment. Thus, to Trump, the national security of this country in his mind is indistinguishable from himself.
Trump sees himself as the “savior” of America, the vicious irony of this venal, incompetent president who thinks he is the greatest president this country has ever had. And, thus, this pompous blowhard, this narcissistic megalomaniac, once more deals in illusions brought about by his delusional hubris for the intended effect of this executive order will not significantly reduce diesel or gas prices by the midterms. Why? The primary driver of these higher costs is directly attributable to Trump’s war of choice with Iran and the entirely predictable closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
Here with this war of choice, Trump once again pursued another illusion, this time of anticipated quick victory by decapitation of the Iranian top tier leadership, no doubt fueled by the unexpected success capturing Maduro and his wife. By the way, has anyone seen any promised democracy springing to life in Venezuela, yet? And whatever happened to Trump’s campaign promises of improving America’s economy? Coming up empty like so many of his other promises. And therein lies the real cause of the coming blue wave.
@GenFlynn You were a national disgrace then and you continue to be a national disgrace now. Your opinion is worth no more in value than a pile of dung. Enjoy your friendship with and admiration of Putin while he remains in power.
Stay resolute for the sake of Ukraine. Remember Winston Churchill and Great Britain standing alone from June 25 1940 to December 7 1942 against the Nazi hordes. History will deal with Trump like it will deal with his friend and ally, Putin, both destined for ultimate defeat. Why? In short, their hubris, avarice, and delusion.
Many deluded Americans support a deluded Trump but so did many deluded Americans support a deluded Adolph Hitler until reality finally woke them up on December 11 1941 when he had his Nazi Germany declare war on the U S following the Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7 1941. By that time, most of Europe and indeed large portions of the Soviet Union were under the Nazi boot heel, the leading elements of the Wehrmacht reconnaissance elements having sighted the towers of the Kremlin in the distance, which speaks to how just out of touch many Americans were with the reality of world events preferring the comfortable isolationist illusion of their “safety.”
Putin wants all of Ukraine just as he said in speeches and writings and as he tried to do in the opening stages of this war in 2022, his forces failing miserably in the face of Ukrainian bravery and battlefield prowess, a Ukraine led by you. Recall the American government wanting you to flee but you refused to go.
You are correct that Putin will not stop with Ukraine. He wants all the lands, as much as he can get, constituting the former USSR, a dictatorial, expansionist and brutal regime whom Putin served in as a KGB officer along with the older current Kremlin “siloviki.” One only need listen to Putin’s “whisperer” Aleksandr Dugin to gain insight into Putin’s “weltanschauung.”
Read an interesting opinion piece by Philip E. Auerswald in The Hill dated April 4 2024 outlining and commenting on Trump’s affinity with Putin. Nothing has changed except for Trump recently dropping all pretense of whose side he truly supports and has all along. The “signs” were always there for those who chose to look.
Trump has betrayed this nation. Putin is no friend of the U S. The interests of his Russia are inimical to the national security interest of this nation. Putin seeks to disrupt and destroy long held alliances of this nation. He seeks to disrupt and destroy the U S from within by fracturing society into competing irreconcilable factions. He seeks to isolate the U S. Trump has facilitated and furthered all of these Kremlin goals. His MAGA movement has been a national scam created and overseen by this flim-flam artist. If this nation is brought to its knees it will be the result of the actions of one man, Trump.
If Ukraine comes under the sway of Putin, he won’t stop. The capitulation of Ukraine will endanger Moldova and the Baltic States. NATO will be tested as never before. NATO is a vital security alliance for this country that has protected it since WWII. It is NOT the “moats” that Trump sees in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. How did those “moats” work in WWI and WWII? Not very well. I have never heard of ballistic missiles being impeded by salt water.
But Putin has grabbed the proverbial wolf by the ears in his war with Ukraine which he has characterized as a “special military operation.” Almost five years later at the cost of 1.4 million Russian casualties with an estimated 450,000 fatalities. He dare not let go. Now we have the spectacle of Trump coming to the rescue of this brutal dictator.
What has Trump ever secured for the US without rewarding Russia in some way by placating Putin? Nothing. This diesel fuel scam that President Trump recently announced is projected to net the Russian economy approximately $6.9 billion if all proposed shipments are fully delivered. The initial immediate shipment of 300,000 metric tons for October 2026 is estimated to fetch roughly $400 million. This money will likely go right into Russia’s defense budget. The diesel fuel supplied to the international market by this plan will barely make a dent in diesel prices in the U S according to many experts.
The primary culprit of high diesel fuel prices in this country is the Iran War. Since Trump started this war, he is doing everything he can to convince Americans otherwise. It is always someone else’s fault never his own in Trump’s delusional world but he has managed to suck millions of Americans into this world. And now we see in his followers the impact of cognitive dissonance, the psychology of commitment, and the power of rationalization.
Yes, Russian soldiers getting slaughtered. President Putin will be finished if this last offensive does not succeed. But I see you traitors are doing everything possible to ensure Mr. Putin prevails.
You do recall your history, Mr. Musk? Mr. Putin was a KGB officer in what was the German Democratic Republic (East Germany back then). The KGB was the security apparatus of the Soviet Union, this country’s primary adversary during the long Cold War. Putin considered the fall of the Soviet Union as the greatest catastrophe of the 20th century. You do read his writings? Likely not. You appear ignorant.
Russians commonly refer to Vladimir Putin's inner circle of security and intelligence officials as the siloviki, which is Russian for "men of force" or "strongmen. And their common denominator: all former KGB officers! President Putin has made it very clear in his speeches and writings that his mission in life is to restore the Russian Empire and reclaim the lands formerly belonging to the USSR. He is similar to Adolph Hitler in Mein Kampf in letting the world know his views. Like Mr. Hitler, he has made clear his intentions.
The day of reckoning is coming for you Putin-loving traitors. And I see our FBI director is currently hobnobbing with the head of the FSB in Moskva and St. Petersburg. He has told no one what he is doing there. Probably sent to Russia by his Sith Lord, Trump.
By the way, Zelensky has no intention of invading Russia to overthrow the government. There was the Kursk counter-offensive but that was to draw away Russian troops from the Luhansk and Donetsk Oblasts. See the comments of General Oleksandr Syrskyi. He estimated 70,000 Russian troops were diverted to the Kursk Oblast. I have no idea where you and these other people are getting this misleading information from. Most likely from the disinformation programs run by the GRU and the FSB.
A pox on you all! Time for you to go, and take Trump with you into the dustbin of history.
As an aside, your $366,000,000 (and counting) will not save the thrashing which is coming in the mid-terms. The majority of Americans have had it with this corrupt, incompetent (and now traitorous) administration.
These men are traitors to this country. Putin will not stop with Ukraine. They are aiding and abetting an enemy expansionist, imperialist state led by Putin as its brutal dictator, who seeks to isolate and weaken if not destroy our nation. How is this for irony? The Democrats in the mid-terms get control of the House and Senate (not too farfetched). They pass veto proof legislation (if there is a blue tsunami) subjecting the U S to the jurisdiction of the ICC. The ICC issues international warrants for the arrest of Trump, Hegseth, and Musk. Can you imagine the shitstorm in the White House that would occur? Lol.
I suppose the real danger to all of us is when Trump, a narcissistic megalomaniac, realizes the vast majority of Americans have rejected him. I think he only has at most his 33% MAGA diehard loyalists, who would follow him like lemmings over any cliff he leads them to. He may decide the rest of us should join them.
