Now, would be a great moment to have in place a disaster relief organization to help the people of Venezuela. We once had one -- USAID -- but Trump destroyed it.
What the BBC did. They played clips of Trump out of chronological order. He complained. They apologised. That should have been it. But he sued them for $10 billion.
So the BBC is going to fully litigate all of Trump's actions surrounding the attack on the Capitol.
Excellent.
Cheating in elections has always been in the absentee ballot. In the 1950s, a member of FDR's cabinet got caught stuffing 500 absentee ballots in Kentucky. That was the only way to cheat because in-person voting is hard to rig. Now we mail ballots to everyone unsolicited, nobody watches them get signed, and we make it legal to collect 10,000 at once. We built the vulnerability ourselves.
The SAVE America Act is the right fight at the federal level, but I refuse to give up at the state level either.
In high school a classmate complained that she was at a disadvantage in our literature class because she didn't understand biblical references
Our teacher goes "Look, I'm an atheist too but you can either learn this or be out of the loop in the entire western world"
Maybe Vance doesn't know this history because it's in one of the books his administration banned.
The difference between Watergate and now is that back then, Republicans actually did something about a law-breaking president. Today, they only roll over for their cult leader.
Increasingly likely that Putin will soon need these 720,000 Russian troops NOT in Ukraine, but cracking skulls on the streets of Russian cities.
The fun is beginning..
Friend in Germany is telling me about the process to get an AC unit
No surprise: there's an extensive, Kafkaesque permitting process involved
He just wanted to sleep comfortably, so he bought a unit and the police came and took it down because he didn't have a loicense
Hellish
With all due respect, Mr. President, Russia has put forth quite a number of peace proposals over the years, 100% of which you and Europe have rejected.
You may consider the deals unfair, and highly disadvantageous. I would agree that that’s how the terms are, advantageous for Russia and disadvantageous for Ukraine.
But the harsh reality is that your country is not in a position to obtain terms that are beneficial to Kyiv, because Russia has the leverage to counter every request that you make.
Had you accepted the deal that was on the table in April 2022, this war would’ve been over years ago, and hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian men would still be alive, and you would be well on your way to recovery.
But because you and Europe demanded submission from the Russian side, you have doomed your country to a war it can never win.
The longer you refuse to take the ugly deal that’s available — and the deals keep getting worse from you arranged perspective — the deeper the cost of Ukraine and Europe’s ultimate failure.
Daycare calls me. That's never good.
For them.
Daycare: "your son hurt his elbow and won't move his arm. Can you come take him to a doctor's office?"
Me (ex Special Forces Medic): "A real doctor is on the way to you now. I am 6 mikes out. Alert me of status changes."
I arrive at daycare. I locate the patient. 21 month old male. Scene is not safe. I drag the patient to cover and concealment behind a seesaw, away from the other small terrorists in the AO.
I begin my assessment. Blood sweep negative for massive hemorrhage. Mental status: conscious and verbal but confused (answers "dada" when asked for blood type). One breath every 2 seconds. Bilateral rise and fall of the chest. Strong carotid pulse, strong bilat radial pulse.
Teeth and tongue intact no blood no mucus no dip or foreign objects. Eyes PERRLA, negative JVD/trach deviation, C-spine intact upon palpation.
Heart sounds strong upon auscultation. Percussion negative for hemo-T. Abdominal quads normal upon palpation. Pelvis negative for book sign.
Arms and legs negative for crepitus. However, Patient indicates discomfort in right arm upon palpation and supination/flexion of the elbow.
Nursemaid's elbow.
I begin interventions. Supination/flexion technique complete at 1215. Palpable clunk on successful reduction. I write the time on his chest in Sharpie. I tape a popsicle to his hand and tell the patient to suck but do not bite/chew. I write "1 x popsicle (10g sugar)" on his chest in Sharpie.
I reassess the patient after performing interventions then package the patient for handoff to daycare/higher level of care. I yell at daycare over the Blackhawk in my head: "21 month old male!!! Nursemaids elbow!!! Treated with supination/flexion technique at 1215!!! Patient has 1 x popsicle onboard!!"
Daycare: "sir please leave."
Me: "you should have called my wife."
I know the haters don’t care, but for the rest of you, remember AIPAC is American citizens — your neighbors. It is not some foreign operation. I myself am an AIPAC donor.
How is this POSSIBLE? Asian refiners say they have all the crude they need until September.
So barrels being pulled out of the Gulf by these small tankers have nowhere to sell into. Absolutely nuts.
Traders say Gulf oil needs to be discounted $15 to sell
They aren't going to do shit. They are all hive mind party till death. You know its real when they are willing to lose races by running democrats in those seats also and willing to lose a cycle or two.
The year is 2048. The Chinese Space Force redirects several asteroids towards Earth. Each is chosen for their exact elemental composition, they are as close to purely metallic as can be found in the asteroid belt.
On October 1st 2049 at 1919 military time they enter the Earth's atmosphere. 1937 military time they explode over a city of sixteen million people.
The colorful fireworks are an instant viral hit on TikTok.
