Got lucky, was able to find another job and get a promotion out of it

Being an employee means being subject to get laid off or fired at any time

Way riskier than having own biz

Yes, better safe than sorry

Was in Hawaii last month and luckily missed all this

But the move for me would be to chill in a high rise building (10th floor+)

Buildings should be designed for seismic loading or tsunami provisions using reinforced steel/concrete

Would take evacuation time to get food and water

And just chill

Maybe some sort of surveillance / reconnaissance equipment should've sent out if available at naval bases to give real time updates on the development of tsunami
