DID YOU KNOW?
Friday reminds us that leadership is not merely a position of honour, it is a trust (Amanah) for which we are accountable.
True leadership is measured by how we serve, how fairly we treat people, and the difference we make in their lives.
Jumu’ah Mubarak. 🤲🏾

Allahummah Amiin
About a decade ago, I met Alhaji Bala Wunti for the first time. Before I had achieved anything worth mentioning, before there was any evidence to warrant his confidence, he looked at me and said: “You shall exceedingly succeed, inshaa Allah.”
Looking back now, I realise those words were a promise he set about fulfilling. Year after year, he has done everything within his power to help me become the person we both believed I could be. He has opened doors, shared wisdom, and shown me a generosity that continues to humbles me. For all of that, gratitude hardly feels like a sufficient word.
Of the many lessons I have learnt from him, two have become permanent fixtures in the architecture of my life.
The first came on the day I left Nigeria for the United Kingdom. As I made my way to the airport, Baba called. Instead of a long farewell or elaborate speech, he said: “Always remember where you come from. Remember also that you are not there to impress anyone.” Time has only deepened my appreciation of those words. I understood that a life spent performing for others is seldom a life well lived. They have reminded me, time and again, to keep sight of what truly matters.
The second lesson came during a journey we shared. We were talking about ambition and what success really means. Like many young men who mistake confidence for understanding, I argued my case while Baba listened patiently. Then he said: “However glamorous life may appear, success means the same thing for everyone: arriving at the destination.”
I have often reflected on those words. To Baba, the vehicle never defines the traveller. Some journey in comfort, others through hardship; some begin far ahead of others. But life keeps no record of such things. In the end, it asks only one question: Did you arrive?
That, perhaps, says something about the philosophy by which Baba has lived.
Despite everything Allah has honoured him with, neither success nor influence has ever made him inaccessible or distant. The higher Allah has elevated him, the more naturally he has continued to meet people where they are.
Allah ya kara maka lafiya da daraja. Ameen!
Happy 60th Birthday, Baba.
Dear Young Nigerian Politician,
Don’t destroy friendships because of any politician. In the end you’ll destroy your possibilities and opportunities. What is most important is to cultivate friendships and build good relationship networks.

Seems Arsenal have picked Bradley Barcola as the marquee signing for that left wing. Are Arsenal in too much haste? Maybe they should wait for A Big Opportunity to land a Big Star Like VINICIUS Jnr from Madrid. Because The jury is still out on Barcola, whether he is actually an upgrade over Martinelli. #arsenal #barcola #arteta #martinelli #coyg #vinijnr
Watch the Arewa accounts that haven’t said a word about the 40 abducted Borno Children with terrorists for over one month now suddenly become senior analysts in Saleem Goje’s marital drama. Nobody can save Arewa from its own stupidity, our evil Northern leaders are so lucky to have us.
A legislature that cannot say no is not a legislature at all. A legislature which simply receives executive proposals, approves them without scrutiny, and goes home has not fulfilled its constitutional mandate.
