Only those operate in the cover of the night who have something dark to hide.
It's a disgrace to a country how this regime is treating the greatest hero of Pakistan, who has given so much to the public, and brought nothing but glory and pride for the country.
Imran Khan is responsible for every word coming out of his supporters, but the Sharif and Bhutto dynasties are not accountable for even their own words or actions.
You dont care about decency in politics, you only care about your privelege.

“The Vanishing of Imran Khan” — a must-read essay in the long form by journalist Osman Samiuddin for the Pulitzer Center:
https://t.co/anzaePPxgf
“What happens when a state erases its most famous public figure?
“This is what Pakistan has been trying to do with the cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan over the last two years. He has been confined in a small jail cell, on trial for a slew of charges. Only one photo of him has emerged from that time.
“The Pakistan Cricket Board, run by political appointees, issued a video celebrating Pakistan's 1992 World Cup win, under Imran's leadership—after having edited him out of the footage. News anchors were banned from mentioning his name.
“So much of Imran Khan’s appeal has been built on his physically arresting presence, and to try to erase that—to erase the most famous Pakistani ever—is a striking experiment in repression.
“In some ways, his situation is similar to that of Myanmar politician Aung San Suu Kyi when she was in prison—and Imran has compared himself to figures such as Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela. There are also parallels with older Pakistani leaders with cult-like support.
“But Imran's situation is unique, not least because of the nature of his public profile, his route to political power, and his erasure in this digital age.
“Journalist Osman Samiuddin reports from Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad, to understand the stakes at play, the government’s various methods to vanish Imran from public life, and the hacks that his supporters have used to bend the rules.”

5 myths about Imran Khan that should have been busted years ago.
Since a lie on-repeat becomes a given truth, let me correct the record on this:
1. Imran Khan is a "populist" leader
There is a difference between a popular and a 'populist' leader. You can be popular and not populist. In fact, if we go by Imran Khan's record, all his life he has taken anti-populist and contrarian positions even when he had to pay dearly for them: Building a free cancer hospital, peace dialogue with Taliban, going against the drones, empathy for the Afghan refugees and going to Russia weren't based on popular sentiment but definitely the morally right decisions to take. Populism is part of the right-wing western discourse which is anti-immigration and diversity; Imran Khan represents the exact opposite.
2. Imran Khan was made by the Army
Unless the Army taught him to bat and throw yorkers, win a World Cup, built his cancer hospitals, injected empathy in him for the people, and trained him to never give up fighting, there is none whatsoever contribution of the Army in Imran Khan's rise. He did benefit from the falling out of the Army with Nawaz Sharif, but to say he is a product of the army is pretty laughable. Even until 2018, Shehbaz Sharif was Gen Bajwa's favourite candidate for the PM, not Imran Khan. IK, as a PM, was a product of circumstances; he made himself inevitable. He was a big global name, long before he touched politics.
3. Imran Khan is anti-West
Again, one of the myths his 'liberal' detractors have pushed, by going around the world and presenting IK as an Islamist and anti-West leader. Imran Khan has always had appreciation for the West, but has no appreciation or tolerance for Western imperial wars, and human rights violations at scale. He wants a respectful engagement with the West, not serve as its tool for oppression and extraction. This is a postcolonial position on global politics and social reality; while others write about it, he actually practices it! Funny, that most Pakistani liberals celebrate such anti-imperialist leaders abroad, in the Middle East and elsewhere, but hate the similar traits in a leader back home.
4. Imran Khan is a narcissist
Narcissists don't build cancer hospitals, or have empathy for the poorest, or fight against monstrous powers while paying dearly. Narcissists are weak and they cut deals at first sign of pressure. Imran Khan is a larger than life leader, which can be confused with narcissism.
5. Imran Khan does not believe in a compromise with the other side.
Again, this goes contrary to all the data. He is way more compromising and believes in course correction than anyone else. He will talk to anyone for the betterment of people of Pakistan but he will neither be bullied and will not succumb to pressure, and especially not allow the rot to be shrugged under the rug in the name of a 'compromise'. He will make any compromise, but not the one that goes against his core values and principles.

It is illegal for Donald Trump to drag America into another endless foreign war.
Congress should immediately pass a War Powers Resolution to block Trump from carrying out an unconstitutional war.
My entire adult life, politicians have promised that new wars in the Middle East would be quick and easy. Then they sent other people’s children to fight and die endlessly. Enough.
#Israel's unprovoked blitz of #Iran's nuclear sites is the most brazen attempt yet to sabotage diplomacy, an attempt to rescue Netanyahu’s precarious political standing at home, and an effort to deflect attention from #Gaza, writes Ashok Swain (@ashoswai)

In a defensive war, victory isn’t measured by conquest, but by the successful defense of sovereignty, territory, and lives. Bestowing the rank of Field Marshal on the COAS is Pakistan's ultimate declaration of victory and ongoing posturing towards India.
The rank is traditionally awarded for distinguished military service—a nod to leadership on the battlefield and commitment to national defense. There’s no denying the armed forces’ capability to defend the country or the military leadership’s skill in commanding their ranks. Those aware of the current power structure also realise that, by bestowing the rank, the military top brass is effectively patting itself on the back for a successful pushback against India.
But military excellence on the battlefield does not translate into a mandate to shape political outcomes. The Field Marshal title may honor service in uniform, but it does not equate to statesmanship, nor should it be mistaken for a contribution to democratic progress. The shadow of the February 8 elections still looms large—casting doubt on the legitimacy of the current parliament, government, and the decisions they make. It’s a reminder that while the military may win wars, democracy cannot thrive under its shadow.
This is a horrible and heinous attack on innocent children which cannot be condemned enough. May God grant their families the sabr to cope with this unimaginable loss.
This is also a huge intelligence failure in an area under complete military control, which raises the questions: why and how did this happen? Did our intelligence agencies have any threat alert re this? If not, why not? And if so, what steps were taken to counter this threat that clearly failed (if any steps in this regard were taken to begin with)?
Also isn’t this immediate attribution of blame on one’s neighbour exactly what the entire Pakistani nation was condemning post-Pahalgam?
And wasn’t it because India was unable to furnish proof of Pak’s involvement that the int’l community did not support India in the way it had anticipated?
How is this allegation any different from what India alleged?
And if indeed we had any prior evidence of Indian involvement in any anticipated attack, this would be an even bigger intelligence failure - accountability must be fixed on those who are answerable to us (at least on paper).
“When I asked for clarification, the military said, “[I]t appears that it is not possible to unequivocally determine the source of the gunfire which hit Ms. Abu Akleh.”
@DionNissenbaum writes on how Israel has repeatedly changed the story behind the killing of Shireen Abu Akleh.
As bombs fall on Gaza and a genocide rages in plain sight, the West cheers on sparkle-drenched Israeli pop stars at Eurovision — a schizophrenic split-screen reality where the Euro-pop spectacle drowns out the sound of war crimes.
