KN Nandap, pcc, mmis, fsmn, the Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service, was inducted as a distinguished Fellow of the Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP) at the 19th International Conference and General Assembly.
The induction ceremony held at University of Ibadan, themed "Economic Challenges and the Task of Building Sustainable Peace in a globalised World", celebrated the CGI’ transformative Border Governance initiatives and commitment to fostering a more secure and peaceful nation.
During the ceremony, the CGI expressed appreciation to SPSP, reiterating NIS's commitment to collaborative efforts that promote peace and stability in Nigeria.
She emphasized the significance of academic collaborations, particularly that align with global standards.
At an earlier courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Prof. Kayode Adebowale, the CGI proposed a strategic academic partnership with the University, focusing on Border Governance and Migration studies. An initiative, which will pave the way for a collaborative relationship that would leverage the strengths of both institutions to advance knowledge and best practices in Border Governance and Migration Management.
In a related development, the CGI met with heads of South West Border formations at Zonal Headquarters, Nigeria Immigration Service, Zone F, Ibadan, charging them to increase border surveillance and patrol activities to enhance National Security. This directive underscores NIS's commitment to securing the country's borders and promoting peace and stability.

The meeting aimed to strengthen the existing partnership, acknowledge the Service's reform initiatives, and collaboratively address challenges, while exploring new opportunities for synergy to drive innovation and excellence in Migration Management.

The Comptroller-General of Immigration, KN Nandap, pcc, mmis, fsmn, received the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani,
to the Service Headquarters in Abuja today, where they inspected the newly built Centralized Passport Personalization Center.
The delegation toured the facility, accompanied by technical partners who provided detailed briefings on each unit within the state-of-the-art center. Journalists were also present, gaining first-hand insight into this significant milestone in passport administration.
This world-class facility, equipped with cutting-edge technology is designed to put an end to production of passports across multiple centres and centralization in one location. This will significantly boost passport production capacity and streamline the process for Nigerians seeking passports by reducing their waiting time.
The Honorable Minister described the new passport center as a long-awaited achievement, marking a significant milestone for the NIS since 1963. He expressed gratitude to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his unwavering support, noting that the center will boost daily passport production from 300 to 5,000 units, aligning with global standards. This upgrade is expected to eliminate backlogs and delays, ensuring Nigerians receive their passports in record time.
The Nigeria Immigration Service remains firmly committed to delivering seamless, transparent, and efficient passport services to all Nigerians worldwide, ensuring timely delivery and exceptional service.
