The Saharan Dust is here and it will get worse as the week progresses. Expect hazy skies along with beautiful sunrises/sunsets and remember to stay alert as respiratory illnesses or allergies might be triggered in some persons.
Umbre seeks to be the organization that provides content that will uplift and inspire a new generation of men and boys.
We need your help to make this a reality. Volunteer your time with us to make this vision a reality.

The @MOEYJamaica had previously issued a statement to schools that hairstyles are not hindrances to learning and should not be used to exclude students from school.
Some students at Kingston College on North Street were barred from entering the school compound on Tuesday morning as they were deemed not properly groomed. Students were reportedly told that their hair was not fit for school and were advised by the principal and dean to go home.
@JamaicaObserver It's the fact that males are still being discriminated against because of how we look. When will it stop ? When will schools stop barring males because of hair? It's the fact that how you look in today's society is all that they think that matters. JOIN THE UMBRE MOVEMENT TODAY !
We believe the Ministers have failed to represent us males. The only narrative that is out there about males is that they are criminals, So other issues like hair discrimination in school will be step under the rug. THIS NEEDS TO STOP ! #EndMaleHairDiscrimination@JamaicaGleaner
So, the young man on crutches “broke the rules”.
Answer, lock him out?.
I’ve been told.
The young man on crutches, was born like that and it’s his permanent condition.
Each day this young man travels by public transportation to and from school.
There must be a better way
In light of another incident of males being locked out of school, we, males, need to unite and take a stand in solidarity with our young brothers, who have been locked out of school for hair. Hair should not be grounds for denial of education.
