Today in New Delhi, I had the privilege of meeting former Union Minister of Education and senior leader, Hon'ble Shri @dpradhanbjp Ji. During the meeting, we exchanged warm greetings and discussed matters of mutual interest.

Hon'ble Shri Dharmendra Pradhan Ji has discharged the responsibility entrusted to him by the Government led by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji with great dedication and distinction. His invaluable contributions to India's education sector will always be remembered and remain a lasting source of inspiration.

As the Union Minister of Education, Hon'ble Shri Dharmendra Pradhan Ji introduced several landmark reforms in India's education system, making significant contributions to the academic and skill development of students and youth across the country.

Some of the major policies and reforms implemented during his tenure as Union Education Minister include:

1. Implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) :
2020Accelerated the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, promoting multidisciplinary education, multiple entry and exit options, skill-based learning, and greater emphasis on Indian languages.

2. PM SHRI Schools :
Launched the PM SHRI (Prime Minister Schools for Rising India) initiative to upgrade thousands of government schools with modern infrastructure, smart classrooms, and high-quality education.

3. NIPUN :
Bharat Strengthened foundational literacy and numeracy among primary school children through the NIPUN Bharat Mission.

4. Digital Education :
Expanded digital learning platforms such as DIKSHA, SWAYAM, and SWAYAM PRABHA, while promoting online and hybrid modes of education.

5. Promotion of Indian Languages :
Encouraged engineering, technical, and medical education in Indian languages and supported the development of educational resources in various regional languages.

6. Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) :
Introduced a digital system for storing students' academic credits, enabling seamless transfer of credits between universities.

7. National Credit Framework (NCrF) :
Established a unified credit framework integrating school, higher, and vocational education, allowing greater academic flexibility and mobility.

8. Common University Entrance Test (CUET) : Strengthened the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) to provide a more transparent and equitable admission process for Central Universities across the country.

9. Digital University :
Initiated the Digital University project to expand access to quality higher education through digital platforms.

10. Research and Innovation :
Promoted research and innovation through the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), encouraging stronger academic and industry collaboration.

11. Teacher Training :
Enhanced continuous professional development for teachers through DIKSHA and other platforms, focusing on modern teaching methodologies.

12. Vocational Education :
Integrated vocational and skill-based education into the school system, preparing students with industry-relevant skills.

13. Higher Education Reforms :
Promoted multidisciplinary universities, introduced greater flexibility in higher education, and enabled students to pursue two academic programmes simultaneously.

14. Internationalisation of Education :
Facilitated opportunities for foreign universities to establish campuses in India and encouraged global collaborations involving Indian universities.

15. Student Welfare :
Expanded scholarship programmes, improved access to digital learning resources, and promoted initiatives aimed at enhancing students' employability.

Deeply saddened by the passing of Shri Nand Kishore Goenka ji, father of Dr. Subhash Chandra ji, Chairman of the Zee Essel Group.

My heartfelt condolences to Dr. Subhash Chandra ji and the entire Goenka family during this difficult time. I pray that the Almighty grants them strength to bear this irreparable loss.
