It was a pleasure having @Dr_A_Wooldridge visit @umichioe to share her research on engineering sociotechnical systems for better team performance and outcomes in healthcare!
Thank you @HFES_UMICH for hosting.
The ICRL lab is getting ready for #ASPIRE24 ! Having a practice presentation session before we head out to Phoenix, Arizona in a week. And the #amazingmentoraward goes to @Jessie_YangXi for spending her Friday afternoon with us ๐๐ @HFES
A bittersweet farewell dinner for our now *former* post-doc, Dr. Qiaoning Zhang. She will be joining Arizona State University @ASUEngineering as an Assistant Professor in Human Systems Engineering! Weโre so proud of you and excited for all you will accomplish! โจ๐
Over the summer, I've been deeply involved in supporting students in the Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP) at UM! I've helped students prepare for grad school in groups and 1:1, and co-led a workshop on R programming to provide support to students wanting to learn more.
When she's not doing research at the @UMICRL or at @umichmedicine , Jen is involved in supporting underrepresented students in their research endeavors - continue the great work! @umichgradschool
Excited to help coordinate activities for our Rackham Aspiring Fellows (RAF) this year! Our summer visit was a success, and we look forward to seeing our students thrive in their research projects over the next several months. ๐
So excited to share that Catherine was the SURE 2024 People's Choice Winner for her poster, "Analysis of the Effects of Automated Aid on Human-Machine Trust in a Collaborative Setting"๐ ! Congratulations, amazing work!!๐ @umichioe
IOE undergraduate student, Catherine Kautz, presented her summer research projects with @UMICRLย at the SURE (Summer Undergraduate Research in Engineering) Showcase, with the support of @Jessie_YangXi , Hyesun Chung , and @JinYong_Kim__! Way to go, Catherine! @umichioe
You'll always find our ICRL students in outreach and volunteer spaces in an effort to inspire students to explore human factors early on in the pipeline. Go Jin! @JinYong_Kim__
Excited to share that we wrapped up another successful #ENCHANT camp! It was amazing to introduce human-centered engineering to 6-8th grade students and ignite their passion for #STEM.
Thanks to @SherylUlin @LeiaStirling @Jessie_YangXi@UMICRL@umichioe

@JenZamudio_ recently presented a poster at Latinx Research Week on leveraging recurrence quantification analysis to understand communication dynamics in robotic surgery!
We had the pleasure of having both Dr. Shanqing Yin (SQ) and Dr. Yoel Donchin give a guest lecture at @umichioe today. Phenomenal talks about considerations for enhancing human factors engineering in healthcare.
Snapped a pic for their reunion with our very own @Jessie_YangXi !
How can recurrence quantification analysis (RQA) be used to analyze communication patterns in real-world surgical settings?
@JenZamudio_ gave a lecture on our exploratory study examining team dynamics in the context of robotic surgery at #HFESHC Robotics Summit. Great work Jen!
Human-robot trust & team performance on tasks with trade-offs (like speed v. accuracy) improves when the robot adapts to the humanโs strategy according to a study presented today by @UMIOEโs X. Jessie Yang & Shreyas Bhat @HRI_Conference#hri2024

๐ Congratulations to Patrik Schuler for winning the Best Student Paper Award at the Cognitive Engineering and Decision Making TG of HFES! ๐ Patrik's work centers on how humans adapt to imperfect automation. So proud of his hard work and dedication! @umichioe@umsi@UMRobotics
How can we model trust in teams consisting of multiple humans and multiple robots?
@YaohuiG proposes the trust inference and propagation (TIP) model and proves trust convergence to a unique equilibrium. #RSS2023 https://t.co/zSeVoSOxBE
