If doglapan had a face
Everyone was numb when kashmiri hindus were killed, when Sikhs were lynched in 1984 riots ,kerala communist violence or TMC violence during their rule but when the heat if felt by the culprits democracy is in danger
This is hypocrisy at its best
🚨 KAPIL SIBAL : "I am ashamed to live in a country where ruling party destroys democratic foundations laid by great leaders of the nation"
"This is the scene of a developed India"
"Why CM Suvendu Adhikari did not visit the place where eggs were pelted at Abhishek Banerjee?
"He should have gone there"
"This is the violence of democracy"
I am seeing many Facebook and Twitter posts saying that the BJP should not intervene in the Munambam land issue because, even after standing with the victims, they did not vote for us. Honestly, that is a very immature political argument.
We cannot expect that every person for whom we fight will immediately vote for us. Social and political perception does not change overnight.
Take the Sabarimala issue as an example. BJP stood firmly with the Ayyappa devotees during the protests against the women entry verdict. Thousands of our karyakartas faced police cases. Shri K. Surendran himself had around 241 cases related to the Sabarimala agitation. Every devotee in Kerala knew very clearly that BJP was the only party that stood wholeheartedly with them.
But what happened in the election?
BJP secured only 15.64% vote share in 2019. Even after such a massive emotional issue, only a section of Hindu votes came towards BJP. And even that increase was not due to Sabarimala alone. The Modi factor, strong candidates, and being the ruling party at the Centre also contributed. Realistically, maybe only 3% to 4% additional Hindu votes came because of Sabarimala.
Did we stop there?
No.
In 2021, the vote share declined again. Did BJP abandon the devotees because immediate political returns did not come? Never. We still continue to stand with Ayyappa devotees even today.
That is how long-term political and social work happens.
For us, there are only two types of voters:
1. Those who already vote for us.
2. Those who may vote for us in the future.
Every outreach matters. Every struggle matters. Every stand we take builds trust slowly. Rome was not built in a day, and neither is political transformation.
Think about ourselves too. Will any of us suddenly vote for Congress or CPM because of one issue? We will not, because trust is built over years. The same applies to others as well.
So BJP should never stop standing with people just because immediate votes are not guaranteed. Keep working. Keep reaching out. Keep fighting for what is right.
Change will happen. Maybe not immediately, but it is inevitable.
