Back-to-school season is a reminder that we all have an opportunity to look out for one another! ✏️ 📕

Human trafficking often hides in plain sight, but caring adults and peers can sometimes notice when something isn’t right.

Here are a few signs that may indicate a student is at risk:

📚 Academic changes: A once-engaged student suddenly withdrawing, missing class often, or dropping out altogether. (Students struggling with homelessness face a 72% higher dropout risk.)

🚩 Behavioral changes: Relying on someone else to speak for them, sudden mood swings, knowledge or behavior beyond their age, or struggling with exhaustion during class.

⚠️ Physical signs: Unexplained injuries, frequent illness, tattoos that look like “branding,” or clothing that doesn’t match the weather.

The most powerful thing you can do is pay attention to the people you already know and interact with every day. A moment of care and awareness could change – or even save – a life.

🎉 HISTORIC WIN! The Supreme Court recently ruled that Texas can require age verification for adult websites - meaning kids won't be just one click away from harmful content anymore!

This June ruling in Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton is HUGE for protecting children online. Justice Thomas wrote that the law "advances the state's important interest in shielding children from sexually explicit content" - and we couldn't agree more!

Texas led the way, and now other states can follow. This is what happens when we stand together for our kids! 💪 Parents, survivors, advocates - we did this TOGETHER. Every voice mattered. Every action counted.

This is proof that when we fight for what's right, we can create real change. Our kids deserve to grow up safe. Today, we're one giant step closer to that reality. 🙌

Our hearts are heavy as we think of the families and communities devastated by the catastrophic flooding in Kerr County and across Central Texas.

The recent mixed verdict in the federal trial against Sean "Diddy" Combs shows just how hard it is to hold traffickers accountable. Despite weeks of testimony and multiple witnesses, the jury acquitted him of the most serious trafficking charges.

No exceptions. No loopholes. Before this bill, only some trafficking crimes got the harshest penalties. Now? Every single one does. Whether it's forced labor, sexual exploitation, or trafficking minors - they're all getting the justice they deserve.
