It’s been 67 days since 42 students, young children full of dreams for the future, were abducted from their school in Askira-Uba, Borno state. We cannot forget about them!
I'm sorry; I still have something to say on this matter. Please, bear with me.
Why do people expect virtue from the poor that the rich lack? Why do we expect restraint from the poor and illiterate that the rich and educated cannot afford?
We've seen rich and educated people throw chairs in the House, we've seen them beat each other up, we've seen them climb the fence and riot, we've seen them kidnap the Mace, we've seen the rich steal like mindless zombies...
All our INEC heads for decades have been professors. Were they incorruptible? Did we not see Honourable Judges suddenly become unable to understand "...and 25 percent in the FCT"?
If learned men with foreign university degrees, who don't have to worry about money or food, still get paid to rig elections, why are we witch-hunting the poor who are getting paid in food and measly stipends?
Don't blame the poor or the illiterate. Blame the system that weaponised disadvantage and greed to its pernicious gain.
Final questions:
If the poor didn't collect Semo and Indomie, do you guarantee that the elections would not be rigged?
Who do you think is more influential in the scheme of rigging: the educated and rich who get luxurious houses and billions, or the illiterate poor who get Semo and Indomie?
This evil system is scapegoating the poor, but they're not the accessories; they are the victims.
Withdraw your sympathies from the corrupt rich people first.
Iran that's being bombarded by America and Israel, sells fuel to its citizens for about ₦45 per litre.
Libya sells theirs for about ₦32.
Nigeria, an oil-producing giant, makes its own people pay over ₦1,000 per litre.
There's no pipeline vandalism going on in the country, we are not facing wars in the South and East, but we bleed to buy fuel. Let that sink in. We are blessed with crude, yet punished at the pump.
The tragedy isn't that we're poor; it's that we've normalized policies that make Nigerians suffer in a nation overflowing with resources. This isn't just economics. It's a betrayal of the people.
We are writing with heavy hearts to cry out for help.
42 children from Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School, Askira Uba LGA, Borno State were abducted on May 15, 2026. The children include toddlers as young as 2 years old.
Today marks 67 days and our children are still being held in the forests. We have not heard anything about their whereabouts or condition.
We have waited, we have prayed, and we have reported. But up to today, we have not seen concrete action from the Borno State Government under Governor Babagana Zulum to secure their release and bring them home safely.
Our children are in the forest. They are scared, hungry, and in danger. Every day that passes puts their lives at more risk.
We are pleading:
1. Governor Zulum: Please act now. Deploy all necessary resources for the immediate rescue of the 42 Mussa children.
2. Security agencies: We need a coordinated rescue operation urgently.
3. The public and media: Help us amplify this. Do not let our children be forgotten.
We are parents, we are a community, and we are desperate. We cannot do this alone.
Please, help us call on the authorities to act before it is too late. Our children deserve to come home.
Thank you for standing with us.
Sincerely,
Concerned Parents and Community Members of Mussa, Borno State, Nigeria.
Good morning, Nigerians. This is a reminder that over 170 kidnapped pregnant women and children from Woro, Kwara are still with terrorists since February.
The terrorists demanded for a ransom of over 3 billion naira. APC is still campaigning in the same state by the way.
It’s been 66 days since 42 students, young children full of dreams for the future, were abducted from their school in Askira-Uba, Borno state. We continue to call on the government and security forces to intensify efforts to safely rescue them from their abductors!
