Why do you think women waited for the Industrial Revolution before fighting for the right to vote and work?
You think they didn't SEE those jobs? Coal mines were there. War was there. Digging ditches, building railroads, dying at 30 from hard laborโฆthat was there for THOUSANDS of years.
They were QUIET. No protests. No "we want equal rights to work in the mines."
Then suddenly... factories. Offices. Chairs. AC. Typewriters. Safe, clean, indoor work that men invented with machines.
NOW it's "We deserve to work! We deserve to vote!" we are oppressed.
Feminism wasn't a random awakening.
It was a planned movement timed perfectly for when being a man stopped meaning hard labor and started meaning privilege.
They didn't want equality with men. You wanted equality with the REWARDS men created AFTER they did all the suffering
I have ordered a full and transparent investigation into the deaths of suspected illegal miners detained by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps following enforcement operations around the Lt. Gen. Mohammed Inuwa Wushishi Estate in Minna, Niger State.
The life of every Nigerian matters. No citizen should lose their life while in government custody as a result of negligence, abuse, inhumane treatment or dereliction of duty.
I am deeply concerned by the reported deaths. This is a grave matter, and the circumstances must be investigated urgently and thoroughly.
The Federal Government will continue to combat illegal mining and other criminal activities across our country. Those operations must be conducted strictly within the law and with full respect for the dignity and fundamental rights of every person taken into custody.
The fact that these individuals were suspected of illegal mining does not remove their right to life, dignity and humane treatment. We will not tolerate deaths arising from official negligence, abuse, dereliction of duty or the failure of public officials to protect lives placed under their care.
Where the investigation establishes that any official, through action, abuse or negligence, contributed to these deaths, that officer must be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law. There must be accountability.
I have directed that the investigation be comprehensive, transparent and unhindered. It must establish the circumstances of the arrests, the condition of the detainees when they were taken into custody, the conditions under which they were held, the number of persons detained at the facility, the medical attention provided to them and the events leading to their deaths.
The suspension of officers is an administrative step. It cannot substitute for a proper determination of criminal responsibility where the evidence warrants prosecution.
I have therefore directed the Ministry of Interior and the leadership of the NSCDC to cooperate fully with all relevant investigative authorities. No officer must interfere with the investigation or attempt to frustrate the establishment of the truth.
I extend my condolences to the families of those who died and pray for the repose of their souls. I also appeal for calm among the affected families and communities. The Federal Government will pursue the truth and take appropriate action based on credible evidence.
We must never allow the pursuit of one form of illegality to create another. Government must enforce the law firmly, but government itself must obey the law.
The sanctity of human life is non-negotiable.
BOLA AHMED TINUBU, GCFR
PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA

"being Catholic does not mean I think every priest is perfect, every bishop is wise, every Pope is beyond criticism, or every decision made inside the Vatican is good.
Catholics know better than anyone that the Church is made of sinners.
That does not make the faith false"
๐ฏ
I have never had more people who are not Catholic tell me what it means to be Catholic than since I started openly talking about my faith.
It is honestly wild.
People who do not go to Mass telling me what the Mass means.
People who reject the Church telling me what the Church teaches.
People who have not opened the Catechism telling me I am practicing Catholicism wrong.
People who mock the Pope telling me what Catholics are supposed to believe about the Pope.
People who do not believe in confession, the Eucharist, apostolic succession, sacred tradition, or the authority of the Church suddenly becoming experts on Catholicism the second a practicing Catholic speaks.
No.
You are allowed to disagree with me.
You are allowed to dislike the Catholic Church.
You are allowed to think I am wrong.
But you do not get to redefine my faith for me because the real version makes you uncomfortable.
Catholicism is not whatever opinion happens to fit your politics, your worldview, or your personal grievances with the Church.
It is a faith with doctrine.
With authority.
With sacraments.
With 2,000 years of history.
With saints who died rather than deny it.
And no, being Catholic does not mean I think every priest is perfect, every bishop is wise, every Pope is beyond criticism, or every decision made inside the Vatican is good.
Catholics know better than anyone that the Church is made of sinners.
That does not make the faith false.
It makes the need for Christ painfully obvious.
So if you are not Catholic and want to ask me questions, ask.
If you genuinely want to understand, I will talk to you all day.
But if you are going to lecture me about my own faith while rejecting the very Church you are explaining to me, save it.
I am not Catholic because it is fashionable.
I am not Catholic because it is easy.
I am Catholic because I believe it is true.
And the more seriously I take that, the less interested I become in letting people who do not practice it tell me how I should.
