Always eager to engage the private sector at #WHXLagos
Last year, we brought the private sector to the front lines of Nigeria's response to #antimicrobialresistance https://t.co/ctS2p3damW
Join us this year to discuss maternal & child health innovation๐https://t.co/l7EasxCC6z
Too many women still face delays in seeking, reaching, or receiving maternal healthcare.
At our side event during #WHXLagos, weโll be discussing how technology, partnerships, and system design can improve care across the pregnancy journey.

The DRC #Ebola situation shows how conflict makes disease outbreaks harder to contain. Diagnosis is another elephant in the room.
Without prompt diagnosis an outbreak response is moving blind, & this @nighealthwatch piece tells us why๐๐พ

The key concern about the #Ebola outbreak in DRC isn't the #Bundibugyo strain or the absence of a vaccine, itโs that conflict is worsening containment, & #Nigeria faces a similar risk with rising insecurity in the country.

Joined yesterdayโs emergency meeting at @HouseNGRโs Green Chamber to assess #Nigeriaโs preparedness for #Ebola.
Trust remains one of our most important assets. #Outbreaks are contained when people trust the institutions leading the response & act on the information they receive.
Today, we joined an emergency meeting convened by the House of Representatives (@HouseNGR) Committee on Healthcare Services to assess Nigeria's preparedness in responding to the #Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda.
For us, health security means sustained and predictable investment in epidemic preparedness, including health workers, risk communication, community engagement and Emergency-Ready Primary Health Care (ERPHC). Public trust requires continuous investment before, during, and after outbreaks. We will continue to monitor developments and amplify the information Nigerians need to stay informed and protected.

Moniepoint Drops โฆ3 Billion on Innovation Hubs Across 3 Major Nigerian Universities.
In a major CSR move, Moniepoint Inc. is investing โฆ3 Billion over the next three years to establish state-of-the-art Innovation Hubs at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), and Ahmadu Bello University (ABU).
These hubs will focus intensely on STEM โ software engineering, data science, artificial intelligence, robotics, product development, and entrepreneurship.
Open to students from all faculties, theyโll deliver hands-on, cohort-based training, mentorship, real projects, and direct industry pathways.
This initiative directly tackles one of Nigeriaโs biggest challenges: the gap between university graduates and industry-ready tech talent. By building permanent, world-class facilities with curriculum input from Moniepointโs own engineers, the company is creating a sustainable pipeline of homegrown, high-density technical talent.
As Co-founder & CEO Tosin Eniolorunda said: โNigeriaโs digital economy cannot run on potential alone.โ
This is Moniepoint putting their money where their mouth is โ paying forward the education that built them and investing billions to strengthen the foundation of Africaโs tech future.
Massive respect for this level of commitment to education and national development.
The blackfly (called Mutumutu in some local communities) breeds near fast-flowing rivers and streams.ย Breaking this cycle starts with awareness. And treatment.
Save this and share it. The more people know how it spreads, the sooner we can stop it.

Today is #WorldHealthDay.
Strong health systems are built on evidence, innovation, and trust in science.
The theme for 2026 #WorldHealthDay, #StandWithScience, underscores the importance of using science to guide decisions and ensure better health for everyone.
Thank you to the @MSIchoices team for the warm welcome at your office yesterday. Our conversation reinforced a hard truth. While we encourage more women and girls to seek reproductive health services, the supply of services and commodities still falls far short of demand, leaving decision-makers failing women and girls at a clear health and economic cost.

Very insightful meetingโฆ
#Nigeria has one of the highest maternal mortality rates globally. Yet, family planning is rarely prioritised as a key preventive strategy, nor is it meaningfully integrated into MNCH initiatives, including #MAMII.
This is very risky, & must change...
Sexual and reproductive health and rights is not just a health issue it is an economic imperative.
When girls and women can decide if, when, and how many children to have, the benefits extend far beyond individual families, strengthening households, communities, and national development.
Yesterday, we reaffirmed our commitment to strengthening partnerships with @MarieStopes to drive advocacy for increased access to SRHR services, backed by sustained investment, particularly at the subnational level where these services matter most.
Had the opportunity of pitching, being accepted & funded to co-facilitate a workshop focused on solutions journalism & investigative journalism with @WamwariCK at the AIJC in 2024. Then it happened in South Africa. Glad to see it's going to Kenya this year. If you have an idea, pitch it. It's a fantastic place to learn & connect with colleagues. @beetromp & the team do a great job of curating, coordinating and supporting participants to attend. #SoJoNigeria
