Here's how:
Step 1: Create a schedule
It will never work if you can't control your time.
Step 2: Be ready to be poor and sleep hungry.
Why?
- You cannot grow if you're not ready to be at your absolute lowest in other to rise.
"You must be ready to burn yourself in your own flame; how could you rise anew if you have not first become ashes?"
You'll understand why I'm saying this as you read.
Step 3: Pick a Skill to build on. Pick something that will make you stay on top of trends especially with technologies.
You need to give yourself a minimum of 2 - 4 hrs daily to learn that skill without disc
Step 4: Learn and post contents every single day relating to that skill you're doing and the trends.
- This will build you 2 things;
1. Knowledge and Skill sets.
2. It will grow and audience (This brings connections.)
Step 5: Teach & Educate; when you're posting teach other people how to do what you do, not just do it. But how to do it better by leveraging tools, technologies, and ideas they might never know.
Step 6: Use your skills to contribute to trends that you can leverage on for visibility.
Example, the dramas on CT and on Twitter generally.
How can you use your skill to contribute to that drama?
A graphics designer - can you create memes, illustration etc.
A Customer Support - can you tell a story of a customer you encountered?
...etc. I can't go on cause this piece will be long.
You need to be creative on how you can use your skill and insert into online drama.
Step 7: Cold outreach daily, showing brands why you can perform better than who they have.
Be Bold! Even if the person they have is better than you.
- You need Audacity.
- You need Shamelessness.
Imagine a brand repost your work to mock you that their person is better than you. You get free publicity.
Smaller brands that love your work will rush in.
Step 8: Get on Freelancing platforms, this is where you'll suffer.
Constant monitoring new gigs on your feeds, be among the first to apply, your application message should be very confident even if you're a newbie.
When you're applying, don't over promise but be able to brag.
If I'm hired, I'm going to deliver this {...}.
What you need is someone that would like your audacity and give you a chance.
When you get that chance, be hell as sure to deliver. If you can't then outsource and pay the person and keep a little to yourself while you keep honing your skills.
Step 9: When you start making money, invest it into;
- Better work equipments.
- Better apps subscription that will maximize your profitability.
- Upgrading your skills.
Your salary should be divided into:
50 - Needs
30 - Wants
20 - Savings and Investment
50% Needs should include your skill upgrading and Wants should include tools to maximize your profitability.
You can adjust this however you want.
The goal is to give yourself delayed gratifications.
That's where instead of thinking about how you'll eat the next meal.
Your thoughts should be where can I use this money to make more money.
Step 10: Multiply your income. What complimentary skills can you add to yourself to multiply your earnings?
- Can you trade the crypto or forex market?
- Can you run ads and sales for businesses in your niche?
- Can you host classes, webinars, and sell courses?
Add one of these to your portfolio once you start earning a salary.
Brag about how you started and where you are currently.
Brag about how you can help others get started for a {...} fee.
Why?
- You have the audience to amplify.
- You have the proof, since you were building publicly.
From there you can figure the rest of your shit out on your own.
I hope this helps.
