@JohnnyScallops Yesssssss, and so happy we get to hear meaningful, positive, inclusive, and coherent messages from the leader of the country again! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
What they don't mention is that @slziegler220 is a nighttime fish sampling rock star and she will be a great addition to the fish ecology community with @MLMLmarinesci
Shelby Ziegler was recognized with a @UNC_GradSchool Horizon Award, for her work that offers insight into how to help the fishing industry, as fish in marshes adapt to coastal change: https://t.co/ggu2u861m6

@slziegler220 Just today I Learned about the National Hydrography Dataset through USGS. Had to do some clipping to get land shapes I wanted but the water shapes were detailed.
Extremely honored to share this recognition with fabulous early career researchers from @UNC_GradSchool. Also extremely excited for fellow @UNCims friends and colleagues @Kjojess and @slziegler220 who also received recognition for their research.
Announcing the recipients of the 2020 Impact and Horizon Awards!

Exciting event happening at @UNCims inspiring young minds. Awesome lineup of great leaders and mentors from awesome science institutions. #GESTatIMS! Will be amazing!
DYK that we will have researchers from 7 different local organizations presenting at GEST? Huge thanks to everyone from:
Cape Fear Academy,
Duke Marine Lab,
East Carolina University,
NC Coast Federation,
NC State CMAST
NOAA, &
UNC IMS
Only 3 days until #GESTatIMS!
#Dorian track # 44 provides ample threat of storm surge & coastal flooding. Amounts = sensitive to storm track, size & strength. Timing = relative to local high tide. Greatest surge predicted for southern Pamlico Sound. #ADCIRC Prediction System forecasts https://t.co/8yqpxcCpaH
A great study by @I_Neylan and @UNCims colleagues. Fun to see a study showing how such small critters provide such a big understanding of ecological processes.
Once again realizing what you can accomplish with amazing mentors and a little (ok a lot) of perseverance. Thank you @cartersmithii @GittmanR for helping me see this through and for @UNCims for being such a great place to work!! 🦀🦀🦀
Some Pulitzer Prize worthy reporting from NC. Can’t decide which category to nominate it for. Investigative Reporting? Explanatory Reporting? Editorial Cartooning? Didn’t dig deep enough on this one - do better @DillonHuffmanTV #FactsNotFear https://t.co/KMnO0l1Giv
