From our earliest days, Black history has always been American history – and Black folks have profoundly shaped our American culture through music, art, literature, sports, and beyond. One month a year is not sufficient to celebrate the power of the movements and the people who have fought for the rights we enjoy today. That’s something that we have to do each and every day, as we strive to live up to their example and make sure our children and grandchildren remember their stories.
Some vegetables is better than no vegetables. Some water is better than no water. Some exercise is better than no exercise. Some cleaning is better than no cleaning. Some writing is better than no writing. Some smiling is better than no smiling. Be gentle with yourself bitch.
My therapist always starts our session with “How are you?” and I always say “I’m good!” and then spend the next hour talking about how I am decidedly Not Good.
Black women please let go of the rage inside you.
Cry.
Yell.
Curse.
Do something.
That rage is making you sick!!! Literally.
Get it out of your body asap!
Why are you so worried? God, the author of your life has it all planned and written out for you. Trust that each page written on your behalf will never be to cause you harm but to help you grow and develop you into your God given purpose.
