How long should immigrant workers suffer @fatlittledog for the mess you made hiding an ICE audit at Tom Cat Bakery 4 years ago!? Workers still struggle without fair compensation. You can do better Vice President Peter Sonenstein. Resume talks with #TomCatWorkersRising TODAY!
@jonathanchait 2/ Question: do you send your kids to school so they'll grow up to be cogs in "the workforce", or is that just for the poor Black and Latinx kids you're unconvincingly pretending to give a shit about?
@jonathanchait 1/ Your lines about remote learning "degrading the skill base of the workforce" and potentially costing the U.S. $15 trillion say so much about what you think the purpose of public education is and who you are as a person.
@AnnieTangent @NESGuillotineJr @bonsmom I had two this week for kids who are new to the school and not in any of my classes, but that's nothing compared to 11...good Lord.
@TechEChemChic I'm so sorry for the short notice you got and the countless hours you probably wasted this month prepping for what turned out to be 5 in-person days. So frustrating that @NYCschools put you through so much for so little.
@underduress1987@iBegUCallATune@jimmyrails1 We keep opening a building for about twelve kids. At what point is this no longer spending the cost of running facilities? Plus canceling classes to do babysitting duty outside of our content. It's a waste of our budget and staff time, plus an absolute trash fire in safety terms
@jimmyrails1@iBegUCallATune@NYCMayor 7% of schools shut down, 50% of kids remote, @NYCSchools still wasting all their money and energy trying to make in-person work. I fully expect them to keep pushing hybrid until there's one in-person kid left and they're blowing their budget on little Timmy from Staten Island.
@susangbarber 2/ Admin has a request that doesn't directly benefit students and takes over 10 minutes? Not happening. This behavior is unprofessional af but hybrid teaching makes it impossible to do my whole job so I may as well focus on the parts that matter.
@susangbarber 1/ This year so far I'm all about the kids and nothing but the kids. Student wants hours of tutoring? Done. Student wants their own graphic organizer? Cool, I'll make it during the staff meeting that could have been an email. Parents need a call for any reason? Done.
It's tough to be a teacher these days, but child care providers, especially the ones who host home daycares, are even more at risk in many ways! Tell Congress: Child Care Providers Need Help NOW! https://t.co/kj6wseMahn
