Did you know that you can consume all the folate your little heart desires, but it won't do your body any darn good unless you have adequate zinc in your diet? Yes, that's right. The mineral we know as zinc is what's called a "co-factor" for metabolizing folate.

We see hundreds of people that have severe chronic disease, anxiety, depression and so we know that in all likelihood the gene is expressing (causing symptoms). So what we do is work in restoring the metabolic pathways that the gene/genes are hindering. #mthfr

Aside from #folate, you will also want to consume other B-vitamins such as vitamin #B2 and vitamin #B6 as they are helpful in converting folate into the active form of folate.
You can increase your vitamin B2 intake by choosing the following food sources.
B6 is linked to the MTHFR gene by being in the same metabolic pathway. B6 is the co-factor for the enzyme serine methylhydroxytransferase (SHMT), and SHMT works in conjunction with the MTHFR enzyme by converting the product, 5-methyltetradhydrofolate to CH2THF.
