Day 29 of #31DaysOfGraves - old.

This is one of the oldest graves I have found on my travels - tucked away in the churchyard at Newchurch-in-Pendle, is the final resting place of Ellin and her family, who were laid to rest from 1651.

Day 24 of #31DaysOfGraves and today it’s about #masons. John Donohoe was born in Ireland, but settled in Liverpool with his wife and family. He was a Marble Mason, and his yard was initially at 19 Benson Street before it moved to 25 Benson Street.

Day 23 of #31DaysOfGraves - where is this month going! Today is animals, and so I’d like to introduce you to Tom, the crypt cat. Naturally mummified, we’ve made sure he now rests in a comfy basket at his home at St Patrick’s.

Today I’m back with a photo by @annaandthedead today for #31DaysOfGraves, we’re looking at #flowers. This is the first time I’ve seen a daffodil used as a motif - it represents the loss of youth and is completely fitting for the Flynn children.

This is the original gate to one of my favourite buildings in Liverpool - St Patrick’s Chapel is the burial ground of approx. 15 000 people, between 1827 and 1851; the crypt is one of the most incredible places, with a history all of its own. #31DaysOfGraves #building

Day 19 of #31DaysOfGraves and it’s about #mistakes - I’m using a picture taken by @annaandthedead today, Mary’s middle name caused me no end of confusion when I was researching her, until I realised it should have been ‘English’.

Day 17 of #31DaysOfGraves and our cue today is #tree; so I’m staying with Burnley Cemetery as I love the tree that has grown straight through the middle of a grave; it feels rather fitting.
