you can cry about it but i’m never going to stop being pro-para and holding this space as a safe one even for the worst of people because community is a part of rehabilitation not just therapy. it’s akin to group therapy to be on someone’s side and remind them not to offend again
@_JohnnyJones @Morbidful @BUTT3003 punitive justice solves nothing. every offender should be given a chance at rehabilitation, not executed in the street. that’s barbaric.
@dewforpolitics @Morbidful you’re sick. if someone was a pedophile or rapist in the past, that doesn’t mean they’ll do it again, and it just makes you an executioner of a person trying to improve themselves.
@StephanieStarrC @Morbidful @Maga4Justice god’s work is forgiveness and acceptance. if he had reached out to these offenders and tried to be part of an accountability program to make sure they weren’t reoffending, that would have lead to less suffering in the world and he wouldn’t be in prison for horrific murders.
@Morbidful this is why the sex offender registry shouldnt exist, it’s extremely ostracizing and allows people who might have reformed to be targeted by revenge fantasy obsessed vigilante wannabes.
no one will can better if they have no community and are labeled a “rapist” forveer
@TrevorK1882 @Morbidful punishment and ostracizing people who’ve harmed folks including rape doesn’t work. humane treatment, sympathy for why they did it and not treating them like a monster, and rehabilitation efforts are successful in almost every case.
@Cold_CPTN @Morbidful rehabilitation is proven to work on most rapists. killing them when they will probably never hurt anyone again makes you the aggressor.
@hippygypsie@Eric__Shunn @Morbidful prison abolition and rehabilitation for pedophiles so they can reintegrate into society, and restorative justice are all proven to be more satisfying to victims than your carceral mindsey.
@holaezzy i’m glad you didn’t, since they probably wouldn’t have gone to prison luckily and it would’ve just been a traumatizing trial, but you still shouldn’t be happy over people dying. if you care, start supporting rehabilitation efforts for offenders in the future
@ElDoRado1239@SassyMetisChick blindly believing victims isn’t the way if it’s with the agenda to get someone punished by our carceral legal system or to be ostracized. victims aren’t the only ones whose concerns matters, even rapists have an inherent be protected from the inhumane justice system
@michellelrhodes@SassyMetisChick there’s a reason for that, even rapists have and deserve community and family. if you’d tried to work it out in a restorative justice based program with mediators, things might have been more healing for the both of you
@brooke_urself22@SassyMetisChick if you have any others, maybe you can try to work it out with them in a restorative justice program and help, yknow, actually change their behavior and own up to it instead of waiting around for them to die.
@EXSkywarp@SassyMetisChick believing in “evil” is incredibly flawed. the offender could’ve changed or been given a chance to heal and change in a therapy program and the outcome would’ve been the same without pretending death solved anything.
@AnneUndone1 @SassyMetisChick working with a mediator to get him into a therapy program would’ve enabled him to not assault anyone else, death isn’t the only way to stop offenders.
@sleepyraposa @SassyMetisChick all of you celebrating people dying in this thread are sick. you’re why sex offenders don’t seek treatment and why restorative justice can’t get tits foot in the door, you just want to jump to the death penalty for every little accused imperfection
