12-year-old boy with congenital heart disease (DORV with malposed great arteries and pulmonary stenosis) presented with headache, back pain, and neck stiffness. A contrast CT brain showed a ring-enhancing lesion in the left basal ganglia, suggesting a brain abscess. Explanation?

Another 4-year-old with left nephroblastoma on 4th-cycle chemotherapy presented with bilateral leg edema. CT and echo revealed tumor thrombus extending from left renal vein into the IVC at the hepatic vein confluence, obstructing right atrial inflow.
