🌿 Can businesses help protect biodiversity while ensuring local communities benefit too?

India's new Voluntary Certification Scheme for Incentivization of Access and Benefit Sharing (VCS-I-ABS) is designed to do just that. It encourages the responsible use of biological resources and promotes fair sharing of benefits. This helps ensure that communities protecting biodiversity also benefit from the value created through its use. 🤝🌱

🌏 With this, India becomes the first among the 196 Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity to operationalize such a scheme.
