Diagnostics are essential to bring outbreaks under control. @WHO, @AfricaCDC and @UNITAID launched the BRIDGE-Access initiative (Bundibugyo Response for Improving Diagnostic Global Equitable Access) in the #DRC to generate evidence on how diagnostic tests perform against #Ebola caused by Bundibugyo virus, aiming to help countries make informed decisions about which tools to adopt and deploy and bring diagnosis closer to affected communities.

A once-yearly injection could transform HIV prevention. Unitaid welcomes Gilead's decision to expand generic licenses to include a once-yearly formulation of lenacapavir for 120 low- and middle-income countries, even as clinical trials continue, paving the way for faster access.

The Access to Medicine and Diagnostics Services annual consultation, co-organised by UNAIDS, @WHO and @UNITAID, is underway.

During the opening, UNAIDS Deputy Executive Director @AchrekarAngeli reminded partners - as our Brazilian colleagues often say, “Innovation without access is injustice.”

She highlighted the opportunity to bring the commitments of 2026 Political Declaration on HIV/AIDS into reality - 40 million people living with HIV accessing lifesaving treatment and 20 million people having access to ARV-based prevention.
