If you missed the DEA cannabis rescheduling hearing filing deadline, FILE ANYWAY.

The official Federal Register notice for participation was only published on April 28, 2026, giving the public barely 3 weeks to respond before the May deadline.

Many advocates, patients, consumers, and grassroots organizations never even saw the notice. There was no public signup portal, no broad outreach, and almost no cannabis media coverage explaining HOW to participate.

Some of us actively searched for information and still couldn’t find clear filing instructions.

This hearing affects millions of cannabis consumers, patients, workers, and small businesses. The federal government should not be able to quietly limit participation through a rushed and confusing process.

The Feds keep changing the labels faster than they change the understanding.

Hemp, Marijuana, THCa, Medical Cannabis, Industrial Hemp, CBD flower, different names, different laws, same plant.

For decades, politics, policy, and regulation have shaped the conversation around Cannabis sativa as much as science has. Somewhere along the way, the public got handed a maze of categories, percentages, schedules, and definitions, and people started believing they were looking at entirely different things instead of different classifications and chemical profiles of the same species.

Now we’re watching another chapter unfold, medical programs shifting, legal definitions changing, and new lines being drawn around the same plant that’s been here all along.

The result? More confusion.

Because a plant doesn’t wake up and decide what legal category it belongs in. Chemistry exists whether policy recognizes it or not. Cannabinoids, terpenes, cultivation methods, genetics, and how compounds change through heat and processing, that’s where understanding begins.

The conversation deserves more than slogans and fear campaigns.

Less political theater, more education.
Less confusion, more science.
Less relabeling, more understanding.

The story of cannabis is still being written, and a lot of people are realizing they were never given the full chapter.

Cannabis cannot exist in two realities at once.

If the same flower sold in a state medical program is now recognized under Schedule III, then there is no scientific, legal, or logical justification for that exact same plant to remain federally classified as Schedule I elsewhere. The contradiction is now impossible to ignore.

June 29th matters. The hearings are the moment to push beyond partial reform and demand full federal descheduling, not another layer of regulatory confusion that protects pharmaceutical interests while leaving patients, workers, veterans, and state operators trapped in conflicting laws.

A plant cannot be “accepted medical treatment” in one state system and “no medical value” in another. The science did not change at the state line. The product did not change. The only thing changing is policy.

But even that was never a real solution, it keeps cannabis federally controlled, limits progress, and ignores everything we already know. Descheduling cannabis would have a far more powerful impact, unlocking research, expanding access, and aligning policy with reality.

Now, the shift is happening faster than expected. This summer, the focus moves beyond rescheduling. The pressure is building toward full descheduling, removing cannabis from the Controlled Substances Act entirely. No half measures. No delays. No more outdated classifications.

Cannabis was placed in Schedule I in 1970 labeled as having “no accepted medical use” and a high potential for abuse. That classification was not grounded in rigorous science. It was a political decision made during the height of the drug war, and it carried decades of consequences built on a flawed premise.

Schedule III is not correction. It keeps cannabis inside the same federal framework that criminalized it in the first place. It preserves federal control, preserves the contradiction, and reframes the mistake instead of admitting it.

If the original scheduling was wrong, integrity demands more than a downgrade. It demands repeal. Public policy should correct error, not cosmetically soften it. Deschedule cannabis. Undo 1970.

Schedule III still means federal ownership, corporate patents, and Big Pharma gatekeeping over a plant that was never meant to be monopolized. Rescheduling isn’t freedom it’s rebranding the same system that criminalized, imprisoned, and profited off prohibition. Real justice is descheduling: removing cannabis from the Controlled Substances Act entirely and restoring it as a natural, sovereign plant for the people.

“God Is” reminds us of a simple truth this earth gave us medicine long before labs and lobbyists existed. Cannabis grows as it was intended, and anything that grows from the ground for healing cannot belong to corporations or governments. It belongs to humanity.
