Cannabis and dopamine: how do they affect each other?
Interestingly, some of the chemicals in cannabis, cannabinoids, influence dopamine levels. This means that understanding how cannabis impacts dopamine is essential to understanding how cannabis...

"N.S. seeing an increase in teens with long-lasting psychosis due to high-potency cannabis"
Buried in the report we are told this:
"For youth with a family history of schizophrenia or psychosis, high-potency THC can act as a psychological trigger."
We've known for years that those at risk have a family history of schizophrenia or psychosis, and that cannabis can be a "trigger" but does not CAUSE them.
Fortunately, wherever cannabis is legalised, adolescent use falls. Taking cannabis off the streets and putting it behind an age gated counter, works.

New modified CBD compounds dissolve up to 14x better in water and kill lung cancer cells more effectively!
Anti-cancer effects:
Some modified versions (especially 1a, 1b, and the L-valine one) killed lung cancer cells better than regular CBD.
One version (1a) also stopped cancer cells from migrating and forming new colonies.
Conclusion:
By attaching different chemical groups to CBD, the researchers could dramatically improve how well it dissolves and, in some cases, make it more effective at fighting lung cancer cells in lab tests.

Dear Gen X,
I’ve been watching 80s movies and I just need to know…WHERE WERE YOUR PARENTS??
Every child was just wandering the earth unsupervised like a raccoon with house keys. Riding bikes across town at midnight, fighting ghosts, investigating murders, befriending cryptids, hacking government computers for funsies…
And the parents were ALWAYS “out of town” or “working late” while the only adult-adjacent supervision was some random 16-year-old who got dragged into the chaos.
No cell phones. No helmets. No adult supervision. Just vibes, life lessons, and several near-death experiences.
You all weren’t “raised.” You were lightly monitored feral creatures with a bike and unresolved trauma.
I’m genuinely shocked there are enough of you left to populate an entire generation.

Our wins today: strong community, Council & Mayor support — and exposing the discrimination cannabis retailers face in Parksville.
Meanwhile, unionized city staff complained about workload instead of finding solutions for the problem they created.

We got a negative review, I guess the reviewer doesn't realize we are mandated to have 24/7 security cameras, and, that AI can transcribe audio and provide feedback.
AI's comment after transcribing the audio is priceless. (Very bottom of last screenshot)
Here’s the situation on Parksville’s Bylaw 1500. We’re leaning into Provincial Legislative Framework Local Gov Act Section 528. Legal Non-Confirming Use, vested rights, to ensure establishment businesses can continue operating even when land-use regulations change around them.
We want to move 60m to a more prominent location so we can shift gears into thriving. The city of Parksville said No because of Bylaw 1500. We appealed and will be presenting to City Council on Wednesday, May 20 at 1pm. Send your letter of support to: [email protected]
It's frustrating to have a new product drop yesterday on the BCLDB for wholesale buyers. Then today I see it's ready for customers to purchase at the BC Cannabis Store. We have to wait 8 days to get it in stock.
And, it is already on sale at the government stores!
"Although cannabis has historically been characterized as a potential ‘gateway drug,’ it may also serve as a harm-reduction tool for some patients seeking to reduce reliance on higher-risk opioid medications… The findings of this study add to the growing body of literature supporting the safety profile and potential therapeutic role of cannabis.”

CB2 Receptor Activation Locks Breast Cancer Cells into a Less Aggressive State, Boosting Tamoxifen Response!
Activating cannabinoid receptor 2 (CB2R) with certain compounds pushes breast cancer cells to become more stable and less aggressive.
Reduced cancer abilities:
This treatment makes cancer cells less likely to grow uncontrollably, spread, or start new tumors.
Resists reversal: The changes stick even under conditions (like growing with other cells, immune system pressure, or physical stress) that usually make cancer cells revert to a more dangerous state.
