@MarioNawfal The ‘negotiating’ was just weapons restocking & war planning time. Now they’re resuming where they left off. Hope we know what we’re doing. Our president hasn’t run many wars, and fighting a country that wants one every day isn’t the ideal first try. How can we win?
I am excited to announce Mind Robotics’ $500M financing, co-led by @Accel and @a16z!
Mind is focused on building the world’s leading industrial robotics platform, capable of performing dexterous, variable, and reasoning-intensive tasks. Existing industrial robotics can perform repeatable, dimensionally stable tasks, but a large share of industrial value-add work requires human-like dexterity, adaptation, and physical reasoning that classical robotics cannot address.
We are building AI-powered robots—models, hardware, and deployment infrastructure—that will perform real tasks, in real plants, at real scale.
@SawyerMerritt Can we get some better looking wheels? The truck itself is a face only a mother can love. Do we have to have ugly wheels also. Literally my only complaint about this new trim.
Legacy automakers are in a very precarious position right now. They haven't yet figured out how to make compelling EVs profitably, so now many of them are starting to fall back on the gas products that do make them money, but this will put them even further behind in the future, which also means they will likely underinvest in self-driving capabilities and the best product for that (EVs).
Ford is working on its "Universal EV Platform" designed to reduce costs, with the first vehicle with that aiming for a 2027 release, but it remains to be seen whether that plan will live up to its promise.
I think we’re going to see a lot of consolidation across the legacy auto industry over the next few years. Many of these companies will struggle to catch up in self-driving because they spent years dragging their feet.
At this point, self-driving is largely a software problem, and software is where most legacy automakers are weakest. Many still struggle with basic in-car UI and software updates, let alone building and iterating on full self-driving systems at scale (pretty much non-existent for them).
@greggertruck What the heck Rivian. Get people in your Trucks. No one knows your trucks are really cool. Your marketing money is a waste. Not targeting well. Make one commercial during a NFL games or something. 2k trucks in 3 months during 7500 tax discount is sad
