The 13 Principles of Faith are not only a list of beliefs.
They are a structure for how a human being stands inside reality.
The Rambam gives the foundation:
Reality has one Creator.
The Creator is not physical.
He does not change.
He alone is worthy of prayer.
Torah is true.
Prophecy is real.
Moshe’s prophecy is unique.
Human choices matter.
There is justice.
The Messiah will come.
The dead will be resurrected for all nations. (Kabbalah)
Chabad Chassidus gives the inner emotional depth of that structure.
It explains that The Creator is beyond all description, yet creates a world where human choices matter.
He does not need anything, yet He desires a dwelling place in the lowest world.
He is not changed by creation, yet creation exists because He chooses goodness, relationship, purpose, and revealed light.
That is what makes the 13 Principles psychologically healthy.
They do not leave the person inside randomness.
They do not make The Creator harsh, needy, emotional, or unsafe.
They do not erase the human self.
They give the personality a place to stand:
before One Infinite Creator,
inside a meaningful world,
with real responsibility, repair, hope,
and a future where hidden goodness becomes revealed. ⭕️
Without Chassidus, the principles can be misunderstood as cold theology.
With Chassidus, they become a way to live with awe, trust, humility, courage, and emotional responsibility.
The Rambam gives the belief structure.
Chabad Chassidus teaches the soul how to live inside it.

Humanity becomes a co-partner in creation by figuring out the emotional skills needed to receive The Creator’s goodness.
The Creator gives light, life, pleasure, meaning, and relationship.
Human beings build the vessel.
This began with Adam and Eve.
They were close to The Creator, but after they 'felt separate through sin' they did not yet have the emotional skills to be honest with Him.
They hid, blamed, and could not stay present with shame, responsibility, and repair.
That was part of the design. ⭕️
_____________________
The world was created in a way that gives humanity the opportunity to become co-creators by building the emotional maturity needed to practice responsibility and relationship before The Creator.
Not by creating the light.
By building the vessel that can receive it.
That vessel is made through the emotional skills of trust, forgiveness, carrying sadness, taking responsibility,
repairing harm, having compassionate boundaries, loving without control, feeling shame without hiding, and receiving goodness without becoming selfish.
When those skills are missing, The Creator’s goodness can feel too intense, too exposing, or too hard to hold.
So people control, abuse, people-please, avoid, blame, numb, manipulate, or run.
That is where much of human suffering comes from. ⭕️
___________________
Not because suffering is the goal.
Because humanity is still learning how to become mature enough to receive goodness as intimacy.
Creation becomes complete when human beings learn how to live with The Creator’s light without breaking themselves or each other. ⭕️

Based on a talk of the Lubavitcher Rebbe on a Midrash, one way to understand human relationship repair is this:
When one person does real relationship work with another human being, it is kind of like bringing an atonement offering on behalf of the Creator for the suffering built into creation.
It means life is about relationship and responsibility, that's the universe the Creator chose to create for us, it allows us to value what He gives more deeply. ⭕️

The Messianic era does not mean you lose free choice.
It means goodness becomes so clear that you feel deeply compelled to make good choices.
Your outlook on life and existence becomes more positive because reality is experienced with more revealed goodness.

Leah, the wife of Jacob, helps explain this emotionally.
The Torah describes her as feeling hated.
A nervous system can interpret sadness, disappointment, or longing as self-hate, rejection, or unworthiness.
Yet Leah did not become trapped inside those interpretations.
She was aware enough to express her pain, build a relationship with the Creator through it, and continue moving toward goodness.
That is emotional maturity. ⭕️
When you do not understand your feelings, they can decide your choices for you.
When you can recognize the difference between a feeling and your nervous system's interpretation of that feeling, you gain more freedom to choose your response.
The more expert you become in your feelings, the more free choice you have.
The Messianic era is a world where that clarity becomes much more natural. ⭕️

The word “God” is a descriptive name.
It is the word people use for the Creator of the universe, the One Cause behind all existence.
“If everything that exists were dependent on something else for existence, nothing would ever exist.” — Maimonides
But the belief is deeper than a title.
According to Rabbi Yisrael Baal Shem Tov, the Creator is not a cold force, an abstract energy, or an unconscious source.
He has intelligence, free choice, and a desire that giving should happen.
That is why the physical world matters.
Healthy giving in this world gives Him pleasure, while Chassidus explains that His pleasure does not create change in Him, because the Creator is beyond change.
From the side of creation, our goodness matters to Him. ⭕️

The Alter Rebbe explains that relationship with the Creator begins when a person feels awe.
Awe includes sadness that His goodness can always be more revealed,
fear before His greatness as it means our choices matter,
and wonder that the Infinite Creator chooses to relate to a physical world. ⭕️
That is the emotional depth of kingship.
Not that the Creator is limited to being King.
Kingship is how a person psychologically stands in relationship with Him. ⭕️
You've got to think about His greatness to feel awe, like how we are each a unique character in His endless story and have free choice, our choices decide how much others will trust us and how much intimacy we experience.
Deeper joy and love is felt after awe.

Chabad Chassidus, as explained by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, teaches that the Creator is not trapped inside the descriptions we use for Him.
He is not limited to kingship, wisdom, or understanding.
Those are ways He relates to creation.
They are not what He is.
The Creator is beyond every description, and still chooses to be in relationship with the world He creates.
And that people should demand more revealed goodness from Him while developing the mindset that "I'm here to be a channel for goodness." ⭕️
Opposite powers peacefully coexisting through free choice hint to a deeper reality: The Creator is One.
That's how the lowest world describes the Creators Essence.
When people learn to relate through compassionate boundaries and humility, differences no longer have to create division.
They become expressions of a deeper Oneness.
The Lord be One, and His Name One from a human perspective.

"Awe deepens when you express appreciation." - Based on King Davids Book of Psalms
It’s healthy for the nervous system to express appreciation to the infinite Creator if you trust He is good. ⭕️
Life feels more meaningful when you feel deeper awe, that's healthy for the mind and body.

The Baal Shem Tov’s life was not only remembered through books.
Towns in Ukraine still carry stories of his miracles through physical landmarks, like wellsprings.
Chassidus does not teach that the Creator is far from the physical world.
It teaches that the Infinite Creator can be felt here too, in the physical world becoming a place where His goodness is revealed.
Many people think they are choosing physical pleasure over spirituality. Often they are choosing the only form of comfort they can still feel. ⭕️
Trauma built into creation caused intense numbness for everyone.
The Baal Shem Tov taught: The fact a person remains alive by the end of a prayer is a miracle.
When one feels: "when i'm with you, i desire nothing on earth', the soul should leave the body in divine ecstasy.

A lot of Chassidus is built on foundations discussed by Rabbeinu Bachya ibn Pakuda.
He teaches that every soul agreed to its mission before entering this world.
Life is not random; each soul arrives with a purpose.

Rav Shach misguided more than 100,000 Orthodox Jews about Chabad Chassidus by teaching them to see Chabad through suspicion before they ever learned it from its own sources.
That was not Torah greatness.
Torah and ahavas Yisrael are united.
Rav Shach was a great Rosh Yeshiva.
A person can know a lot of Torah and still fail to represent the greatness of Torah when his influence trains Jews to mistrust other Jews instead of learning, understanding, and caring about them.
Rav Shach had other foolish beliefs like "give away land for peace", "relate to secular Jewish people through hate."
If Torah greatness means control over a yeshiva world, Rav Shach was greater. If Torah greatness means opening the depth of Torah, Talmud, Chassidus, Tanach, Rambam, and Jewish thought to the whole Jewish people, Rabbi Adin Even-Yisrael Steinsaltz was greater.
The Lubavitcher Rebbe is in a different category of leadership.

The Creator built the world like a relationship: the more humanity practices humility, vulnerability, and responsibility, the more His goodness can be revealed.
