Four feet on a dirt dance floor
Campfire embers lighting each step
Crickets keep the slow dance time
Barred owls give one word answers
To questions the pines didn’t ask.
@megigogi Tiny little biting fuckers. Around here if you even glance at anything higher than ankle-high grass in the summer, they’ll get ya.
Next time put on extra bug spray before you go in their neighborhood. And DO NOT scratch the bites.
My breaking point to leave our old church was when the preacher brought up the idea of deconstruction during children’s service.
Children’s.
Service.
I grew up, got married, & had all of our kids baptized in that church. We left that to protect the kids from false teachings.
Yesterday sucked. It was my last day at my church of 20 years.
I played in the praise band for over 12 of those years. I enjoyed doing so because it was how I got to use my talents to serve God.
But the sermon *literally* was about AI datacenters using all our water, mass animal farming, and how environmental racism was causing disproportionate harm to minorities.
I'll miss playing, but the UMC is completely lost.
@aelfred_D@MorlockP I wonder if this is a rural/urban conversation concept. People know large towns/cities. But describing which small/unincorporated town in the sticks you live in can be difficult unless a familiar county/town is mentioned.
@ParamedicVet Turns out he grabbed the wrong mike and ended up broadcasting his impression across the local 911 dispatch channel at full volume. We heard it on the ER radio and those two instantly earned the names Bob and Stuart from then on.
@ParamedicVet We had two jokers in EMS who were constantly playing around. They were driving to a call and got behind some vehicles at a stoplight that weren’t moving for the lights and sirens. One of the medics grabs the external speaker mike and “encourages” traffic with a Minion impression.
@BigBBaptist@4nt1p4tt3rn Same, but we also broadcast on a local radio channel also for shut-ins who aren’t tech savvy. Similar baseline goal with both of those.
@J0hnADouglas Ngl, I waited excitedly for my kids to get to the age where they wanted to watch P&F. Just so Dad had an excuse to sit and watch it too.
