Jen stands up straight, dusting herself off. Mr. Stilts over there is lucky he caught her 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 work. She wouldn’t have been so nice if he made her late.

Heh, Stick was… something. Personally he thinks a child in a war wins, but they don’t need to play who had the worse childhood.
He’s had times in his life where he’s had trouble with that same thing. ‘Mysterious ways’, as they say.
His childhood wasn’t the greatest, sure— but he didn’t get blinded & trained by a questionable sensei for years. Matt wins in that department, or loses depending on how you look at it.
Some things are just inexcusable, really.
Childhood like that, no one should have it. If it’s any consolation, Matt has his sympathy.
Not a bad view to have, but if god is real, he has questions to ask him when the time comes.
